Toto Wolff and Christian Horner
RBR Daily

Max Verstappen is now regarded as the finest Formula One driver. Although Lewis Hamilton remains a racing superstar, the Dutchman has surpassed him in the last three years. At only 26 years old, Verstappen has broken practically every F1 record, leaving an incredible legacy. This achievement is mainly due to the Red Bull squad, which provided him with a very competitive vehicle. Furthermore, Red Bull spent money on Verstappen throughout his early racing career, supporting his racing ability. As a result, he continues to win races with his energy drink-based squad.

However, earlier in February, everything took an unusual turn. Christian Horner, the CEO of Red Bull, was involved in a sexual misconduct lawsuit, causing internal upheaval. The analysts felt that this power struggle would wreck the Red Bull squad. Furthermore, when Adrian Newey departed the team, there was widespread anticipation that Helmut Marko and Max Verstappen would leave, too. However, the RBR sensation has reaffirmed his future with the Milton Keynes-based team, allowing Horner to retaliate against the Mercedes remarks.

Red Bull Takes A Savage Jibe At Wolff After Verstappen’s Statement

As the internal chaos worsened, Mercedes seized the opportunity. Toto Wolff, the team’s principal, has said he wants Verstappen to drive for the Silver Arrows. Furthermore, there were suspicions that Mercedes emissaries would meet with the three-time world champion following the Miami Grand Prix in May. Wolff further noted that Mercedes must improve to accommodate someone like Verstappen. He stated that a champion driver like Verstappen simply desired a fast vehicle. The 26-year-old Dutch driver indicated his wish to continue with Red Bull, but his declaration lacked assurance. This uncertainty has fueled conjecture and suspicions that he may transfer teams.

However, the Red Bull starlet reaffirmed his RBR position and expressed his desire to continue driving for the Austrian outfit. This allowed the Red Bull boss to retaliate. Ahead of the home Grand Prix, the team boss spoke to media houses, targeting the Mercedes squad. Horner confirmed that Verstappen was resolute in his statements and was clear about his future. Further, the British executive savagely replied to Toto Wolff’s ‘Did he really say Yes’ remark. He said Wolff could have the Verstappen, but it could only be Jos Verstappen (Max Verstappen’s father). While this was a cheeky reply, it also gives an insight into Horner-Jos’ relationship, as things have been tense between them.

While the 26-year-old Dutchman confirmed he will stay at Milton Keynes, the racer is keen to drive a strong racing machine. The RB20, one of the most advanced vehicles, has some competition from rivals. Thus, the team was slightly pushed back in terms of domination.

However, Verstappen confirmed the team is focused on improving in the upcoming season. He further claimed the Red Bull squad would regain its domination as the technical team works day and night to enhance the F1 project.
