Aaron Judge needs to be at his best to help the New York Yankees reach their desired destination. After a terrible 2023 season, the NY side is looking for redemption. Nothing really went right for the Bronx Bombers last year. They had the second-worst batting average in the league behind the Oakland Athletics. Moreover, the NY side finished fourth in the American League East Division with an awful record of 82-80. It’s not surprising that it was their worst season in the last 30 years. Moreover, the 27-time champions had to deal with a lot of injury issues.

The injury to their captain was especially a heavy blow to their campaign last year. Coming to the new ongoing season, the Yankees Faithful will have their fingers crossed about the fitness of Aaron Judge. Last year, the NY side’s captain started the season well and went on to hit 37 home runs. He could have done a whole lot better if it was not for the torn ligament toe injury. Anyhow, in 2024, it was a concern as Aaron Judge took some time to find his groove. He managed to hit his first home run of 2024 in the seventh game.

On Wednesday afternoon, the 2022 AL MVP finally managed to hit his first home run of the current season. Merrill Kelly, the starting pitcher of the Arizona Diamondbacks, was the first victim of Judge’s home run power in 2024. It was only a matter of time before he would hit his first homer. Aaron Judge took the pitch deep and sent it to the Chase Field’s pool deck area. The crowd went into a flurry in an attempt to grab the baseball. Although it took Judge seven games to get one out of the park, the Yankees captain found no reason to panic. Later, Aaron Judge told YES Network that it was just a matter of continuing to swing the bat.

Moreover, he said the key is patience, and if the players can keep their cool and focus, they can deposit the ball out of the park. He was waiting for the right pitch, which is crucial for the sluggers who want to be successful at the plate. Moreover, Aaron Judge noted that it was important for him to stick to his approach. He was even open to taking the walk if he did not see the right pitch. Adding to that, the superstar slugger showed faith in the “Loaded lineup.” He said he needed to get on base so that the guys coming in the order after him could do their job.

The “Loaded Lineup” Allowed The Yankees Captain Not To Think Too Hard About His Slow Start

Aaron Judge is one of the hardest hitters in MLB. Fans expected him to fire right away as the season started a week ago. But he took as many as seven games to slug his first homer. Anyway, on Wednesday, he did not take much time to find the “Right” pitch to hit one out of the park. But in the first six games, even though Aaron Judge was a bit slow and did not hit any homers, it didn’t worry him too much.

After all, the team has been performing great and firing on all cylinders. Juan Soto has obviously been the centre of attention offensively and defensively. Then, there are Alex Verdugo and Marcus Stroman. All these new entries have been big hits so far. That’s the reason why the Yankees enjoyed a 6-1 season-opening road trip.
