Aaron Judge had been through lots of ups and downs this year. He did not have a great spring training. In the middle of the spring training, he sustained an abs injury. As a result, he had to miss out on several Grapefruit League games. Moreover, the wound from last year is still quite fresh. The 2022 AL MVP hurt his toe really badly. Later, it turned out to be a torn ligament. He missed more than 35 games in a row last season. That was a huge blow for the New York Yankees.

Moreover, Aaron Judge said before the spring training this year that he would need to take care of his toe injury constantly for the rest of his career. Clearly, he has not been 100% healthy. Later, in the 2024 regular season, he had a very slow start. It took him seven games to hit his first home run this year. After going through an early season slump in April, Judge turned things around in May. Now, he is the leading homer hitter this season. Lately, he hit his 26th home run.

On Sunday, the Yankees lost to the Boston Red Sox 9-3. Moreover, Aaron Judge went 1 for 4. He hit a solo home run in the first inning to help his team get a 1-0 lead. Last week, the 2022 AL MVP has been a bit quiet. He went 6 for 25 with an average of .240. He hit a couple of home runs and five RBIs over six games against the Kansas City Royals and the Boston side. Over the last six contests, Judge struck out nine times. On Sunday, he struck out thrice itself. It seems like a natural ebb and flow of the team’s offense in a long season like the MLB. Nonetheless, the Yankees captain is still leading the list of most home run hitters this season so far.

Moreover, he has an added 64 RBIs, five stolen bases, 56 runs scored. On top of that, Aaron Judge has slashed .299/.425/.686 over 73 games. But in the last week, the Yankees seem to lose their winning touch a bit. Judge had been a bit quiet and modest, and the team lost as many as three games. On top of that, injuries have started to become an issue again for the NY side. They would not want it to ruin their great start to this season again. Last year was bad enough for the Bronx Bombers. That’s the reason why they have been looking for redemption this year.

Juan Soto could not play the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to forearm discomfort. However, the Yankees managed to get back on winning ways against the Kansas City Royals. However, they failed to complete the sweep in the four-game series against the Royals. The NY side lost the series finale against the Royals. Then, they won the first game of the three-game series against their arch-rivals, the Boston Red Sox.

That was their 50th win this season. However, the Yankees lost in the next two games quite badly. In Game 3, the first baseman Anthony Rizzo injured his right hand and seemed to be in a lot of pain. Rizzo was on last year’s Injured List, too. But the Yankees would not want to repeat that this year.
