Aaron Judge wants to lead the New York Yankees to their first-ever World Series win since 2009. It has been a really long time since the Bronx Bombers have been world champions. That is a good reason why the fans are a bit sad. But the offseason the NY side had after the horrible 2023 season sure must raise the hopes of the fans. Moreover, the Bronx Bombers are looking to redeem themselves after failing to make the postseason last year. On top of that, the worst part was finishing with an awful 82-80 record. It was really embarrassing for the whole organization. They finished third in the American League East. Moreover, the Yankees had the second-worst batting average in the league after the nine-time champions, the Oakland Athletics.

That’s why they made some significant changes to turn things around the offense and the outfield. In the process, the NY side used a lot of their pitching resources to trade for high-profile outfielders. As a result, they had a sudden worsening pitching situation. Later, the Yankees added Marcus Stroman for a two-year deal. However, they wanted a more dependable pitcher like Blake Snell, Jordan Montgomery or Dylan Cease from the trade market. But the Yankees have not sealed such a deal this offseason. Lately, Aaron Judge gave a hint at some more offseason moves coming up from his team’s end.

Perhaps Aaron Judge Hinted At The Yankees Still Looking For More Pitchers

On Tuesday afternoon, Aaron Judge dropped a hint intentionally, perhaps to suggest that the Yankees are still working on some offseason moves. He took to the podium to start the spring training on Tuesday. During the conversation with the media, he winked and had a prolonged smile indicating that he thinks the organization is not done seeking pitching. As per Andy Martino of SNY, Aaron Judge has the information that the front office is still conversing internally about pitching additions. There is that “Constant undercurrent to the onfield action.”

Moreover, the Yankees captain told the media that there might be another move on the way. Adding to that, he mentioned, “But you never know. We’ll see.” Is it a sign that the Yankees might actually seal the deal with Blake Snell? But Andy Martino feels that might not be the case. The offer to Snell is actually getting stale. However, the Talkin’ Yanks people recently made an interesting post on X. It says, “Gentle reminder: Judge and Snell are pretty close friends.” Perhaps Judge’s smile and wink were about seeing his friend in pinstripes. Who knows?

Currently, The Pitchers Available On The Trade Market

Clearly, Blake Snell is the best option for an ace pitcher available in the free agency market. Then, there is Jordan Montgomery, who came off winning a World Series with the Texas Rangers. The Yankees might want to reunite with Montgomery. Then, there is Dylan Cease, who can be a viable option for the Bronx Bombers.

And, there are also hurlers like Shane Bieber or Edward Cabrera, who the NY side can pick from. Perhaps before the Opening Day, the Yankees will swing something to bolster their rotation depth. So far, the starting pitching lineup looks a bit shaky. Like Aaron Judge will pair up with Juan Soto in the batting order, who does Gerrit Cole have as a partner in baseball crime?
