Los Angeles Lakers veteran forward LeBron James is often surrounded by controversies. Be it on-field or off-field, James is the media’s favorite child. The man, on a quest to be the all-time highest scorer in the history of the NBA, is again being criticized for a controversial statement involving his son Bronny James. Bronny James is completing his last high school year and will move to college next year.

Bronny has received multiple offers from universities for college admissions. Moreover, James Jr. has shown interest in Ohio State, USC, and Oregon. Though Oregon Ducks’ coach Dana Altman refused to have put forward any such offer, Bronny is highly interested in joining Oregon. Reacting to these rumors, LeBron James passed a controversial statement which has now sent an uproar on social media.

LeBron James passed a strong statement while commenting on Broony James’ college admission rumors. The junior reportedly wants to go with Oregon but has not yet received any offer from the college’s sports team’s coach Dana Altman. To this, James reacted and said Bronny could attend any college he wanted. And all that it will take for him is to dial up a phone call and get it done. LeBron further added if Broony desires to go to a particular college, he is good enough.

This statement had not gone well with the fans, who termed it James’ sheer arrogance and accused him of nepotism. After a massive uproar, LeBron James posted a story on Instagram and issued a clarification. James admitted he did not like how the statement came out. He actually wanted to convey that Bronny is good enough to admit to any college he wants. However, at the end of the day, it’s the junior’s decision to choose what suits him the best, and he, as a parent, will always feel proud of his son.

“What makes him happy is all that matters! We’re a proud family regardless,” wrote LeBron James

Bronny James has set a path to follow in his father’s footsteps. 20 years ago, LeBron James received the tag of a McDonald’s All-American. Now, two decades later, his eldest son, Bronny James, has received the same honor. As a part of the West roster, playing for Sierra Canyon, Bronny received recognition. Moreover, LeBron James shared his proud father moment on Instagram and congratulated his son for the honor.

Bronny turned 18 last year and will soon be eligible to feature in the major league. Earlier, LeBron James spoke about his desire to play alongside his son, donning the Lakers jersey, for one whole season before he retires. With LeBron being 38 and playing like a 25-year-old, his dream could soon come true. For now, King James needs to shift his focus back to the Lakers, who are standing on the edge of the cliff after almost losing the playoff race owing to constant setbacks.
