They managed to steal Carlos Correa away from the Yankees. 

San Francisco Giants Sign Carlos Correa For 12 Years!

The San Francisco Giants\’ pursuit of Aaron Judge did not go as planned. The front office was determined to make a splash that would reach McCovey Cove and wasn\’t about to back down.

An ESPN source said that the San Francisco Giants and shortstop Carlos Correa had reached an agreement on a 13-year, $350 million contract. According to the source, the pact has a complete no-trade clause, but there are no opt-out provisions. Correa declined Houston\’s $160 million offer last year and now becomes the Giants\’ franchise player. In Minnesota, he earned $35.1 million in a single year, making him the infielder with the highest salary ever.

After one season with the Twins, Correa chose to opt-out of his three-year, $105.3 million deal. In 136 games, he hit.291/.366/.467 with 22 home runs and 64 RBI. Despite Correa\’s accomplishments on the field, the Twins faltered late and took third place in the American League Central. Correa signed a three-year contract with the Minnesota Twins last winter after beginning his career with the Houston Astros for the first seven years. After the first year, Correa quit, and this winter, he will once more be a free agent.

Aaron Judge, the current American League MVP, elected to sign a nine-year contract with the New York Yankees instead of signing with the Giants, who had previously chased him.
