It has to do a lot with passion, longevity, and fitness. LeBron James is playing in his 20th NBA season with Los Angeles Lakers. in his career, he has led three different teams to NBA championships on four occasions.
The title glory started with Miami Heat (twice), then his hometown franchise, Cleveland Cavaliers, after his comeback, and finally, in 2020, with his current team, Los Angeles Lakers. Undoubtedly, James has a bag full of experiences. Not just how to win but what it feels like to lose as well. LeBron James led the Cavaliers to four finals from 2015 to 2018. Other than in 2016, he lost the other three finals against the Warriors. Hence, James knows the value of a single mistake that can cost the game and eventually a series. And recently, another star Laker, Austin Reaves mentioned an incident similar to this.

The Lakers have made a lot of errors throughout the season. As a result, they could not reach the top six finish. However, the squad showed grit and determination to go through the play-in and reach the playoffs. As the leader of the group, LeBron James would not want his team to lose everything all of them have worked so hard for. From that level of concern, there was a moment between Austin Reaves and LeBron James during the series against the Grizzlies. AR did not have a great series compared to the kind of season it has been for him.
The young gun averaged 11 ppg, 8 apg, 6 rpg, and 2 blocks per game in the series against the Grizzlies in round 1 of the playoffs. Anyway, there was a moment in the third quarter of Game 6 as Reaves missed a rotation. However, it did not sit well with LeBron James. AR mentioned, “He gave me an angry stare trying to tell me, ‘You can’t miss those.’ At that point, we were leading by 30 points. But James was right to hold me accountable.” That is the kind of passion and eye for detail the King has. For him, every single opportunity counts, especially when the team is in the playoffs.

After the team has been through a pretty bad start to the season, the Lakers have come a long way to the second round of the playoffs. Now they are going to face the defending champions, the Golden State Warriors. Furthermore, it is going to be an epic clash between Stephen Curry and LeBron James.
Old rivals will meet again. Both Stephen Curry and LeBron James are looking for their 5th championship. However, one of them can, as they cannot meet at the finals again. For that, either of them has to move to a team at the other conference. It may not happen anytime soon.
