In the 2022 MLB season, New York Yankees star Aaron Judge had a sensational run with 62 home runs. However, his exciting free agency prospect received far wide coverage than his performance. The drama surrounding Judge\’s future has been going on for several weeks. But now, the drama has finally reached its climax. As per the reports, the star baseman has re-signed the New York Yankees for a whopping amount of $36 million.
New York Yankees Re-Sign Aaron Judge!
As soon as top player Aaron Judge committed to playing with the Yankees for the ensuing nine years, supporters of the team breathed a sigh of relief. A nine-year, $360 million deal was reached on Wednesday between the superstar free agent and the Yankees. According to a confirmation by The Post\’s Jon Heyman, the AL MVP will remain in The Bronx for the foreseeable future. And probably the rest of his professional career. The deal, which still needs to pass a physical, was first reported by The Athletic.

Aaron Judge reportedly turned down a contract from the Yankees earlier this year that would have earned him $213.5 million over seven years of playing. He seized the option to pursue free agency since he thought his skills might be worth more. After his previous contract ended, Judge became a free agent. And the MVP turned down an early contract extension offer from the Yankees. The San Francisco Giants have subsequently been connected to one of the league\’s most sought-after players. But he has remained committed to his team.
At least until this week, the Yankees were thought to have the best chance of keeping their homegrown star during the Winter Meetings. Although Judge did manage to cram a lot of drama into his free agency, this was not the case. Aaron Judge had a remarkable season, breaking Roger Maris\’ record of 61 solo home runs in 1961 to become the American League\’s all-time leader. He has been well rewarded and will devote his future to the Yankees.
The Linden, California native was strongly encouraged to return to the Bay Area by Judge\’s home team, the San Francisco Giants. After that, the high-spending San Diego Padres made a late push, and Judge traveled quickly to San Diego on Tuesday. However, it was ultimately insufficient because Aaron Judge far outperformed expectations by winning his wager on himself. His acceptance of the seven-year, $213.5 million deal on Opening Day resulted in the biggest contract in Yankee history.
Aaron Judge will soon surpass all other MLB players in terms of salary, earning nearly $40 million every season. Though not nearly as much as the top earners in the league, the overall deal is still fairly large.
