Ahead of the opening day, spring training will begin in a few weeks to allow the clubs to test their desired rosters and get the players back in rhythm. New York Yankees are down with injuries just ahead of the spring training. New York Post reported earlier that 29-year-old Frankie Montas’ shoulder injury, which kept him out for most of the 2022 season, has resurfaced. Moreover, Frankie is expected to miss the first month of the 2022 season. Further, DJ LeMahieu missed out on the 2022 postseason owing to a broken toe. His toe has not yet healed, and his presence in the 2023 season is doubtful. However, Yanks manager Aaron Boone finally provided some positive updates on the injury status of the players.

The New York Yankees are suffering blow after blow even before the season begins. The club’s relationship with unforced injuries is troublesome. In a very recent setback, they lost their starting pitcher, Frankie Montas, to a recurring shoulder injury. However, the magnitude of the injury is not made public for now. On the other hand, DJ LeMahieu broke his toe in the 2022 postseason and has been missing in action ever since. Hence, suspense over both the stalwart’s participation in the 2023 season stays.

Meanwhile, Yankees general manager, Aaron Boone, spoke on Yankees Hot Stove and shared some positive updates. Boone addressed Montas’ situation first and stated that the medical team had cleared the pitcher for workout sessions. However, his exact return date could only be determined after the results of the workout sessions. But, Boone stated he is confident of his return soon enough. At the same time, DJ’s situation is improving as well, according to Aaron Boone. He added DJ is in a good space for now and likely to being spring training on time.

Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, bared it all out in a recent interview and shared recent updates on the roster. He addressed the Frankie Montas situation. Boone could not determine the exact date of his return. However, the manager named two frontrunners who could replace Montas in the starting rotation. FYI, Boone confirmed earlier that Frankie Montas would feature in the starting pitching rotation for the Yanks in 2023.

Domingo German and Clarke Schmidt are the two names put forward by Aaron Boone. Both the pitchers have displayed substantial performance for the Yankees in the past. Hence, choosing one from the two will be yet another headache for the Bombers’ front office. Overall, the Bronx Bombers’ roster looks stronger than ever to compete for the world series title.
