Aaron Judge, the New York Yankees captain, hasn’t been the most sorted slugger in the big apple this year as Juan Soto has taken his place with consistency in offensive production. He left the captain and former MVP behind in hitting metric but not for too long.

Aaron Judge was able to get back to his feet after a slow start in April. May proved to be a month of resurgence and Judge is finally showing some signs of real form. Hence, given his numbers in the past week, Ben Verlander, an MLB analyst, picked Judge to lead his ‘team of the week.’

Ben Verlander, a respected voice in the world of baseball analysis, has once again made waves with his latest “Team of the Week” selection. While talking to Fox Sports, Verlander began picking up his favorite players per respective position based on their performances from the past week. Notably, Yankees captain Aaron Judge was selected as the best center fielder and slugger of the week. Notably, the former MVP’s first month into the season was bad. But he covered up ground pretty quickly to embrace a resurgence. In May, Judge is hitting .324 with 4 home runs and 9 RBIs. He delivered in clutch moments to help his team win, which turned out to be the most important attribute.

That being said, Ben Verlander’s team of the week included several hot names, including Oniel Curz, Kevin Pillar, and Bryce Harper. However, Aaron Judge was the only Yankee to make the cut. Indeed, the Yankees captain has covered a lot of ground in no time. He surpassed the consistent Juan Soto in home run tally to become the Yankee with the most homers this season. Despite Soto’s presence, Judge’s form has been a concerning factor for the Bronx Bombers, as the captain is the heart of the lineup. Nevertheless, a champion player like Judge always finds a way to come around, and he lived up to his word that it was getting hot in May. Overall, as the Yankees continue to advance further into the 2024 MLB season, Aaron Judge will continue to play a huge role in the team’s success and offensive production.

After an abysmal start to the season, New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge managed to cover up for the lost ground. In the recent away series against Tampa Bay Rays, the captain slammed a solo shot in game 2 to bring up his 10th home run of the season. Notably, Judge’s average had plummeted to .206 in April.

But somehow, Aaron Judge has raced back to his MVP trajectory in no time. He even surpassed Juan Soto in the season home run tally despite not being as consistent as his teammate. Such has been the dynamics of the team lately. However, the Yankees and Soto wouldn’t mind Judge’s resurgence as it’s crucial for team’s postseason aspirations.
