Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James seems like a man on a mission at present. He wants to win his 5th championship ring before he retires. And for that, he is training like a rookie at the age of 38. It is pretty incredible and inspiring to do what he’s doing at this age. Very few players have the same level of longevity.
Apparently, there have only been six players, including James, who played in over 20 NBA seasons. He has always been like a big freak of nature in terms of what he is able to do on the court. Now, James is heading toward the age of 39, and there is no sign of slowing down for the all-time leading scorer. LeBron James is still leading the Lakers on the basis of scoring. There is no doubt about him being on the list of the top players in the league still. Recently, in the preseason, LeBron James had a pretty productive outing for the Los Angeles Lakers.
LeBron James Had A Pretty Productive Finale In The Preseason
Clearly, the Lakers Head Coach would not want to risk his fitness. After all, the James is getting more injury-prone in the last few seasons. For instance, last season, he sustained a severe tendon injury on his right foot. Later, he missed a month of game time. Hence, Darvin Ham is extra careful about the workload of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Anyhow, in the last preseason game against the Phoenix Suns, LBJ led the Lakers, scoring 19 points as well as grabbing six rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes of game time. However, the game did not go in the Laker’s favor at all. As the Suns blew the LA side apart with a 123-100 win.
Despite this big defeat, the Lakers should be happy with the performance of LeBron James. As the King recorded a plus two-point differential. It is quite hard to imagine that LBJ is the oldest player in the league at present. Albeit, the Lakers lost, the fans should be happy with a productive display by LeBron James. The Lakers Nation would want him to continue the same momentum. They would hope the momentum does not break any time soon. It is about the King’s last attempt to win his 5th championship. That’s the dream that still drives LeBron James to play in the league.
LBJ Would Love To Get As Closer As He Can To MJ In Terms Of Records
King James is pretty confident about his energy level. He believes he can still run faster and jump higher than most young players in the league. It is actually true. He is still the face of the NBA. Moreover, he will be 39 next December. The fans hope to see LBJ win another MVP before he retires.
Then, he would equal his idol, Michael Jordan. With five rings and five MVPs, it should be easier to decide who’s the GOAT. However, Michael Jordan has six rings and five MVPs under his belt. Anyway, it would be a nice way to sign off on winning his 5th championship ring. Can he get that this season?
