LeBron James will be 39 next December. No doubt he is getting really old to keep playing in the league. But he really wants to win his fifth championship ring before he retires. However, with age comes more injuries to athletes, and it does not matter how great they are. Moreover, James proved in the last few seasons that he is getting more and more prone to severe injuries.

Apparently, he has not been able to play more than 60 games in the last few seasons. However, the value that King James brings to the table is unquestionable. Moreover, at 38, the King was still averaging 27.8 points per game in his 20th NBA season. But recently, LeBron James fell down the Top 10 spots in the NBA 100 Top Players Ranking as per CBS Sports.

Even though the Lakers’ ace is out of the list of the best, it might not be suitable to count him out because it is never a popular opinion to count out a GOAT of a game. Like Novak Djokovic in Tennis, Tom Brady in NFL, and Lionel Messi in soccer, age is not a factor in measuring a player’s greatness. LeBron James broke the NBA’s all-time scoring record last season. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar held this record for 38 years, to be exact, and that’s how old King James was when he broke that record. The man from Akron, Ohio, is also fourth on the all-time assists list. Additionally, he can break many more records in the next season.

James has won four titles with three different teams, and he has been a four-time MVP. Moreover, he got four finals MVP as well. King James led the Los Angeles Lakers to the Western Conference Finals last season. He became the oldest player to score the most points in a conference final game. Hence, it is never wise to keep a GOAT out of the Top 10 best player’s rankings. Currently, he is at Rank 12 after entire NBA writers submitted their votes. Moreover, LeBron James found himself behind Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Stephen Curry.

Injuries In The Last Few Seasons Affected James’ Game

Since his debut back in 2003, LeBron James has been a big freak of nature. Nobody could match his speed, agility, and power. But very few greats can hold on to that power till their 21st season in any game. James is still able to run faster and jump higher than most young players. However, he is also able to sustain an injury that can keep him out of the game for almost a month.

Late last February, in a game against the Dallas Mavericks, he slipped on the floor and heard a popping sound from his knee bone. Later, it turned out that LeBron sustained a tendon injury on his right foot. He needed to undergo surgery to recover fully, but it was very time-consuming. Hence, he avoided surgery for a while. But that injury affected his game to a certain extent.
