Sir Lewis Hamilton has been struggling to get a win since the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix back in 2021. But history will always remember him as the most successful driver in Formula One. He is the only driver to cross 100 Grand Prix wins. Michael Schumacher had 91 wins. Both Hamilton and Schumacher are seven-time champions. But the British driver came pretty close to becoming the first driver to win eight championships back in 2021.

If it were not for the current double-time champion Max Verstappen, Hamilton would quite comfortably have won the title. But it just was not meant to be, at least back then. Moreover, it is quite unlikely that any team can beat Red Bull this year. After all, it is clear that RB19 is the fastest car at present. Hence, many wonder who would win if the best drivers get to drive RB19 or the same machinery. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko mentioned nobody can beat Max Verstappen with the same machinery. According to Marko, they can try to beat him with other machinery. However, not many may agree with the Red Bull advisor.

Recently, in an interview with Sky Sports F1 podcast, former racing driver Danica Patrick mentioned Lewis Hamilton will have the upper hand if he gets to drive the same machinery. Among the three most successful drivers currently present on the grid, Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso come to mind. At first, Patrick said it is too hard to keep them apart from title contention if they drive the same car. However, Danica Patrick added that with a lot more experience in title success, Lewis Hamilton would have a better chance.

The most successful American woman racer in open-wheel car racing suggests that Lewis Hamilton will beat Alonso and Verstappen via his consistency. Moreover, the only female winner of the IndyCar Series race claims in any race, the length matters, and Hamilton does not make many mistakes. Hence, Danica Patrick feels the seven-time champion would snatch away the lead over Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso in the same machinery.

The Seven-time Champion Believes He Can Give Max Tough Time If He Drives Checo’s Car

But who knows, if Hamilton gets the fastest car again on the grid, he might go on to win his eighth title. That’s something that the seven-time champion of the Mercedes team believes in. During the Belgian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton mentioned if he drove Sergio Perez’s car Max Verstappen would have been in deep trouble. Currently, Checo is struggling to maintain consistency even though he gets to drive the fastest car on the grid.

At present, the only two drivers who are lucky to drive the fastest car belong to the Red Bull team. Hence, it is a bit weird to see Checo falling further back. On the other hand, Max Verstappen has won 10 already this season. Moreover, he won 15 races last year. However, Lewis Hamilton managed to gain a few podium finishes with an upgraded W14 car. Even with new upgrades, Mercedes have not beaten Red Bull yet.
