In the first round, Hachimura played a key role in restricting the Grizzlies’ shooters. Even against Denver, Rui was able to tackle the mighty Jokic, which further upped his stakes. LA saw his potential and locked him in for three more years with a $51 million salary. And to be brutally honest, Hachimura deserves every penny offered. He has been extremely versatile and has gelled well into the roster.
Coming to the 2024-2025 season, Rui Hachimura may come off the bench. The combination of D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Jarred Vanderbilt, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis has worked for the team so far, and they are expected to continue with it. Having said that, Hachimura, even as a 6th man, can add much value to the Lakers.
