Red Bull ace Max Verstappen keeps on extending his winning streak. In every race, the Dutchman is proving that it is his time and he is the king of the grid at present. Moreover, he is fortunate that Red Bull was able to build the fastest car on the grid despite the cost cap regulations. In the new era, many teams, like their rivals, Mercedes, have suffered a lot to build their respective cars. But Red Bull is ruling the grid at present to a whole new level.
Adrian Newey’s magnificent design of the RB19 and the Honda engines have worked miracles for the Austrian team since last year. They had won 17 races last season. Max Verstappen won 15 himself. That’s a record for any driver in F1 history. But Red Bull has won all the races so far. However, on the podium, there was a hilarious incident between the Dutchman and McLaren’s driver Lando Norris finishing at P2.
Max Upset With Lando For Breaking His Hungarian GP Trophy
Recently, the McLaren team has been performing exceedingly well after copying the RB19’s design for their MCL60. Lando Norris beat Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamilton to finish at P2. It is a back-to-back P2 finish for Norris and McLaren from the British Grand Prix. Hence, it is understandable that the 23-year-old McLaren driver was full of excitement. However, his signature celebration on the podium went terribly wrong this time. As Lando’s bottle of champagne broke Verstappen’s trophy.
In excitement, Norris strokes the bottle on the top of the podium that breaks the trophy as it falls off. Hence, Lando Norris accidentally shattered the P1 prize for the Dutchman. Max Verstappen, in a hilarious interview with Sky Sports F1’s special broadcast for children, mentioned, “It was not my fault, Lando, I give you a red card.” Moreover, Verstappen mentioned that he would go to Zak asking for his spare money to spend it on the trophy. Later, to apologize for Lando’s mistake, McLaren sent an apology to Red Bull and Max Verstappen via social media.
Max Verstappen Is Unbeatable At Present
Moreover, Max Verstappen is on his way to breaking his own record. Everybody waits and watches if Red Bull can become the first team to win all the races in a season. Moreover, can Max Verstappen win as many as 20 races alone in a season? He would become the first F1 racer to reach that milestone. On top of that, he is just 25 years old. There is a long time for Verstappen to go in his F1 career.
He will break all the records a driver can break if he keeps going on like this. All he cares about is his winning, and about that, the Dutchman is ruthless and, to a certain extent, a little selfish. But no matter what, nobody can deny that he is one of the most skillful drivers there ever has been. Last Sunday, Max Verstappen won his seventh consecutive Grand Prix and nine in total this year so far.
