On top of that, Red Bull is planning to introduce new upgrades to RB19 for the Hungarian Grand Prix. According to a Red Bull employee, Horner and his team plan to introduce new upgrades to ensure they don’t lose their dominance.
Red Bull Plans To Introduce New Upgrades To Make RB19 Two-Tenths Faster
Reportedly, the upcoming Red Bull upgrades include new designs of side pods that will make the car two-tenths faster as well as look better. But fans are wondering if they really needed any new upgrades. The team has been way faster than everyone else, anyway. But boss Christian Horner and Chief Technical Engineer Adrian Newey are not planning to take any chances. Max Verstappen also confirmed that new upgrades to the car are coming in Hungary. In the post-race press conference after the British GP reporters asked him what the team was looking to improve. To that, Verstappen replied, “Oh, you know the drag, low, medium, and high speed, tire wear, DRS effect, and so on. Really, I’m not kidding.” And now, fans are flooding social media with jokes, saying they should try the zero-side pod concept of Mercedes.

According to these fans, if anybody could make that flawed Mercedes concept work, then that is Adrian Newey. Primarily because his car is ruling the grid at present. Recently, in the Canadian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen helped Red Bull get their 100th victory, and Newey to his 200th victory. The engineer is an experienced and highly successful campaigner. Hence, the fans might have a point in their jokes. Anyway, it does not seem Red Bull’s hegemony will end anytime soon. Moreover, Pat Symonds, Formula One Chief Technical Officer, also told that they have no intention of planning a strategy to stop Red Bull’s dominance. It is because they believe in the concept of ‘meritocracy.’
Other Teams Are Copying RB19’s Design And Showing Signs Of Improvements
It is clear that Red Bull is not leaving any room or space to let any team get on top. The chief technological officer, Adrian Newey, has designed the fastest car on the grid for back-to-back seasons. Red Bull won 17 races last season, with Max Verstappen winning 15. In the current season, the Milton Keynes team has won all the races after the first ten Grands Prix. Nobody can deny the hegemony the Austrian team is enjoying at present.
The RB19 car is unique and the fastest. And there are teams like McLaren and Aston Martin who have copied Red Bull’s design. Subsequently, they have done well and got better results. In the British Grand Prix, McLaren came second, beating Mercedes. Moreover, Lando Norris was only 3.7 seconds slower than Max Verstappen. That’s the closest any driver has come to the current double-time champion.
