The host is of the opinion that the reason the Yankee hitters are getting badly deceived by ordinary pitchers is because the lineup is majorly dominated by right-handed batters. Amid criticism, the front office made a sign-in to strengthen the left-handed depth.
Yankees Offer Minor League Deal To Veteran Lefty Jake Lamb
In a move aimed at adding depth and versatility to their roster, the New York Yankees have signed veteran left-handed hitter Jake Lamb to a minor-league deal. Jake Lamb, a former All-Star, brings a wealth of Major League experience to the Yankees organization. The 31-year-old infielder has spent the majority of his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he showcased his power-hitting abilities and solid defensive skills at third base. Lamb’s left-handed bat provides a valuable asset to the Yankees, who predominantly feature right-handed hitters in their lineup.
However, this season, he has not been at his absolute best. In 18 games with the Los Angeles Angels, he had hit .216 with two home runs and five RBIs before being designated for assignment. The Angels just released a few days ago. For now, Jake will play in Triple-A, where his record is a lot better. If the offensive woes worsen over time, maybe Lamb can get a promotion like Jake Bauers did. Nonetheless, that’s for the future. For now, the Yankees need to bounce back on an urgent basis. Another loss here will put them down to the last spot in the East division. A comeback from there would be next to impossible.

As per the current circumstances, the Yankees should look for immediate solutions. As the trade deadline inches closer, the team must look out for outfield candidates to increase the roster depth. The captain, Aaron Judge, is out for an indefinite period, and Giancarlo Stanton’s time on the field is restricted due to injury concerns. Hence, a potent hitting outfielder’s addition is the need of the hour. The ideal candidates could be Juan Soto, Shohei Ohtani, and Cody Bellinger.
While landing Soto and Ohtani could be an impossible task, Bellinger looks like a realistic pick. He is with the Cubs and solely lifting the team’s playoff hopes. However, in exchange for a good offer, the Cubs might be ready to ship him away. Cody Bellinger is again a left-handed hitter who recently showed what he can bring to the Yankees.
