The New York Yankees lost its most precious gem this week due to an unfortunate injury. Aaron Judge, while making a stellar defensive play, crashed into a fence that injured his toe badly. Later the scans confirmed the worst, and the slugger had to move to IL. Not only that, the primary cause of concern is the absence of a timeline for the captain’s return.

As per the present situation, no one knows when Aaron Judge will be able to make a comeback. It could be two weeks or even four to six if the injury aggravates. However, the Yankees cannot just sit and wait for fate to play its own course. The team must move on and find some solutions for the outfield. One name is a prime candidate to replace Judge in the right field. But his troubling injury history has left the Bombers second-guessing.

The New York Yankees lost two outfielders this week due to injury. After Aaron Judge, Greg Allen, too, landed on IL and is likely to miss 6-8 weeks of action. Hence, the Bombers’ outfield depth has ceased to exist for the time being. Meanwhile, speculations of Giancarlo Stanton playing outfield to replace Aaron Judge started doing rounds shortly after the captain’s IL stint was announced. Stanton returned from a hamstring injury last week and has been playing as a DH ever since.

The Yankees apparently want Stanton to refrain from spending prolonged time in the field to limit the injury risk. However, rumors had it that in the wake of Aaron Judge’s injury, the team might rush the DH into the right field. However, the manager, Aaron Boone, has squashed the rumors. He said Stanton’s outfield plan would go as per schedule. He will work his way through pre-game workouts. The DH has been conveying positive feedback so far and will only resume his field duties when the team deems it necessary. Boone admitted that he indeed wants him to play outfield, but he can’t rush his recovery just for the sake of it. Hence, for now, the Yankees will have to rely on its utility players.

In a series badly hampered by weather conditions, the New York Yankees lost to a dispirited Chicago White Sox. The home team missed the services of its captain, Aaron Judge, as he landed on IL due to toe injury moments before the series kicked off. Hence, the onus shifted to the Bombers’ top order, which is filled with notable names. But to the Yankee fan base’s disappointment, all of the top four failed miserably.

During the second matchup of the series, the Yankees, top order Gleyber Torres, Anthony Rizzo, Giancarlo Stanton, and DJ LeMahieu, failed to record even a single hit combined. They collectively went 0-for-15 with three walks. The stats enraged the fans, who could not help by putting the entire blame for the loss on these four hitters. The fans called the performance unacceptable, especially at a time when the team was playing without its top batter. It’s high time the Yankees look beyond Aaron Judge to fulfill their offensive expectations.
