And once again, the British driver expressed the same desire. But what is that? Keep reading to find out.
Lewis Hamilton Now Feels Like Retiring
In the 2022 F1 Season, one of the most successful drivers, Sebastian Vettel, announced his retirement. He was one of the drivers who faced Lewis Hamilton as their biggest rival. Fernando Alonso is also another F1 driver from the same era as Hamilton and Vettel. He also announced retirement in 2018, although he returned after three years for the love of motorsport. All this while, the media has asked the same question to Lewis Hamilton as when he will say farewell to Formula One. And every time, the Silver Arrows driver was sure he had more time to entertain his fans worldwide.
However, this time, Hamilton has finally accepted that he now sometimes thinks of when he’ll be free of all this hassle and competition. The Briton has one year left on his contract with Mercedes. However, boss Toto Wolff has already claimed that he will soon conduct “The Talk” with Lewis regarding his contract extension with the racing team. Moreover, the chief is more than sure that the seven-time world champion will gladly continue with the team to witness more years of success. However, Lewis has recently revealed that the contract negotiations haven’t started yet.
Apparently, there had been no time for this as they were on the road, revealed Hamilton. But he also pointed out his feelings about the future. According to that, Sometimes he wakes up and feels not want to do this (F1) anymore. Still, Lewis wants to achieve more while staying with Mercedes and contributing to it. “Quitting as a world champion is, I think, a dream that every athlete has – and so do I,” reckoned Hamilton.
