On a serious note, the Yankees defeated the Minnesota Twins by 5-2 in the game on Monday. Meanwhile, the slugger was the hero of the victory, hitting his 54th home run for the season.

After launching his 54th home run of the season on Monday afternoon at Yankee Stadium, Aaron Judge is now a few swings away from breaking the all-time Yankees\’ home run record. The 404-foot line shot off Twins relief pitcher Trevor Megill occurred in the sixth inning of a tied game. Following his initial at-bat against starting pitcher Chris Archer, the outfielder recorded his second hit of the contest when Judge doubled and advanced to score the game\’s first run.

The home club increased its lead to 4-2 when Judge waited on a Trevor Megill slider that hung directly in his wheelhouse and sent it flying inside the left field foul pole. With his third home run of the season coming in this game, Judge has now homered in three straight contests, moving him a few home runs forward towards Roger Maris\’ 1961 record of 61 for the team and the American League. With his 54th big shot, he now equals Alex Rodriguez\’s record for the most home runs by a right-handed batter in a season in Yankees history. Another legendary player, Mickey Mantle, hit 54 home runs in one season while playing for New York.

According to Twins manager Rocco Baldelli, this season is exceptional for Aaron Judge, particularly in light of how the league\’s offense has been declining this season.
