New York Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, has been exploring the possibility of playing left field during spring training.

Aaron Judge, the New York Yankees’ newly minted captain and star outfielder, is all set to lead the team for the very first time this season. After taking over the captaincy badge since Derek Jeter, the outfielder will is expected to reflect it in his performance and hopefully carry the team to the finish line. However, the road to glory is, as usual, filled with hurdles.

The New York Yankees are struggling to stack up a balanced starting lineup for the 2023 MLB season opening day. Moreover, the piling-up injuries are just adding to the ongoing misery. New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge, known for his powerful bat and strong arm, has been exploring the possibility of playing left field in addition to his usual spot in right field. This move came after Aaron Hicks, the team’s regular left fielder, struggled with consistency in plays. Further, the team tried to fill the hole all off-season but could not bring in a fresh face. Hence, the slugger decided to step in and came up with an unusual plan. He suggested Aaron Boone to consider placing him at left field, Harrison Bader in the center, and Giancarlo Stanton in the right.

However, the plan is reportedly put on hold for the moment. As reported by Chris Kirschner, Boone has informed him that Aaron Judge would probably not start in left field in the season opener against the San Fransico Giants on March 30. Instead, Oswaldo Cabrera, the young utility player, will likely start on the left. Further, the skipper refused to reveal Judge’s starting position and stated it as a pending point of discussion. Regardless, Aaron in the right field makes more sense practically. Even though his intentions seem to help the team as a whole, his personal performance might take a hit in the process.

Yankees Fans Excited To See Snippets On Aaron Judge In Left Field

Aaron Judge excelled left field position in spring training. While he started in left field in just a couple of outings, the outfield did not fail to leave a deep impact. A video of his rocket throw from left field to get an out on second base has been doing rounds on social media. Further, it had the fans excited to can’t wait to see Judge perform in the left. The Twitter feed remained filled with comments praising Judge for excelling his new role.

On the other hand, Aaron Judge might have to wait for a little to put his left-field plan into action. Since Harrison Bade is out indefinitely due to oblique issues, Judge will have to play center. Just to refresh your memories, the slugger played in center field last season before Bader was traded to the Yankees.
