Giancarlo Stanton reestablished his dominance with the bat by hitting his second-longest career home against the San Francisco Giants during the season’s opening series. He followed it with another gigantic homer against the Minnesota Twins. However, things went haywire shortly after. While walking on the base paths, the hitter felt some discomfort and was replaced by a pinch runner. Further, the Yankees’ management confirmed the dreaded speculations regarding the DH’s health. Stanton apparently strained his left hamstring and was placed on 10-day IL with no set timeline for return.

Giancarlo Stanton is suffering from a Grade 2 hamstring strain which takes about two months to heal. However, Yankees manager Aaron Boone is optimistic that it wouldn’t take that long. Boone said Stanton has a good physique and could recover within six weeks. On the other hand, Stanton’s absence has been particularly noticeable in the last game, as the Yankees have struggled to generate much offense against the Los Angeles Angels. Despite the struggles, Boone says he’s confident in the team’s ability to turn things around. Regardless, for now, the team will have to continue to wait for his return and hope that he can get back in the lineup soon.

Aaron Boone, the manager, formally announced that the DH would miss up to six weeks. The fans, on the other hand, are not happy. Stanton spending significant time on IL has become a yearly tradition that has irked the New York supporters. They trolled the hitter for getting injured over minimal discomfort despite building a strong physique.

Undoubtedly, Giancarlo Stanton’s issues with his lower body are concerning. It has hampered his overall growth as a player in recent years.
