The New York Yankees have received some good news on the injury front, as outfielder Harrison Bader is nearing a return to the lineup.

New York Yankees dealt with a severe injury crisis ahead of the commencement of the 2023 season. As many as eight players landed on the crowded injury list, making things bad to worse for the Bronx Bombers. However, as the season progresses, many wounded players are making steady progress and could return sooner than expected.

Losing Carlos Rodon and Harrison Bader just days before the season was a major blow for the Yankees. While they have tried to cope with it by summoning depth from the minor league, the results are undesirable. Regardless, the team and fans can breathe a sigh of relief as a major injury update is coming out of the Bombers camp.

New York Yankees outfielder, Harrison Bader, suffered oblique issues a week before the opening day. Subsequently, he ended up on the IL for an indefinite period. Bader, who arrived in the Bronx last season via trade, became a regular starter in the lineup with excellent defensive skills. However, the recent injury foiled plans for this season. The injury was initially expected to keep Bader out of action for several weeks, but he has been making good progress in his recovery. Hence, he could be back in the lineup sooner than anticipated.

As per the latest developments, Harrison Bader has been making good progress so far. He underwent a full on-field workout on Thursday. Moreover, Bader could likely begin a rehab assignment in the minor league as early as next week. Bader’s return will provide some much-needed depth to the team’s outfield, which has been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks. Moreover, if the center fielder can stay healthy and continue to produce at the plate, he could play a key role in the Yankees’ lineup this season. We should have a clear pitcher on his return timeline post his rehab assignment.

Harrison Bader went through a full-fledged on-field workout session on Thursday. He made multiple runs on base paths and did some field practice as well. Bader updated the media on his injury and said he felt physically good after the workout. He tried to match the regular game intensity and faced no issues whatsoever. However, the outfielder wants to see how his body reacts after the intense workout to determine his return timeline.

Furthermore, Yankees’ Aaron Boone came forward with additional updates. He said Harrison Bader would undergo a few more workout sessions before hitting the rehab assignment. Boone also noticed that the outfielder looked fine throughout Thursday’s session, and the two weeks’ progress has been excellent. Hence, in a perfect world, with the current recovery plan, Bader could make a comeback as soon as the last week of April.
