New York Yankees began the series campaign against the Texas Rangers on a winning note. The offense corrected their mistakes from previous series defeats and attacked the Rangers’ starter, Andrew Heaney, early on. The Yankees took a commanding lead of 3-0 at the top of the second inning and did not leave a chance for the Rangers to make a comeback. Gerrit Cole made his sixth start and aced it completely.

The Yankees recorded their 15th win of the season but still ranked fourth on a highly competitive east table. Regardless, Bronx Bombers lead ace Gerrit Cole emerged as the silver lining for the team. He continued his dominance from the mound and held off runs until the very end. However, the Rangers managed to break his scoreless streak in the bottom of the sixth inning. Despite this, Cole went home with another undefeated record.

New York Yankees ace pitcher entered the 2023 MLB season with a load of expectations and responsibilities on his shoulders. With 2/3rd of the pitching rotation spending time on IL, the onus shifted to Cole to carry the team’s defense on his back. The ace is experienced enough to understand the gravity of the circumstances and delivers more than asked. Till now, the pitcher has pitched 40.2 innings in six starts and allowed just five runs with as many as 44 strikeouts. His overall ERA stands at 1.11 with one shutout inning.

While his scoreless streak might have come to an end, Gerrit Cole still remains the only unbeaten Yankee. In six game appearances, the pitcher has not yet faced a defeat. He has helped the team advance with a win each time he stepped on the mound this season. Speaking on his performance, Cole said he draws confidence from his teammates. His preparation has been good, as he is able to execute a lot of pitches according to the set plan. Overall, the ace said that as a pitcher, you feed off the team’s good start with the bat, and today, he did just that. Well, the fans would love to see Gerrit continue this form till the regular rotation makes their way back to the mound, if not for the entire season.

Cole Furious At Aaron Hicks For Messing Up A Simple Play

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks‘ misery on the field just seems never-ending. Yesterday, Rangers’ Nathaniel Lowe hit a flyball to the left field off Gerrit Cole’s pitch. The ball looked like a routine play. However, Hicks’ somehow messed it up as he apparently lost sight of the ball in the lights and awkwardly dropped it. The ball later traveled to Isiah Kiner-Falefa in the center. But it was too late, as Lowe had enough time to run for a double.

Luckily the error did not cost much as Gerrit Cole successfully got rid of Adolis Garcia in the next pitch. However, Cole’s furious reaction to Aaron Hicks’ error caught the attention of the fans, who blasted the outfielder for the error. The Yankee fan base is frustrated to the core seeing repeated routine errors from Hicks, who is struggling to execute the basics of baseball.
