Juan Soto has been the biggest addition to the lineup of the New York Yankees. If the Bronx Bombers had him last year, perhaps they could then avoid the 82-80 failure. They could not make the postseason for the first time since 2016. Moreover, the 27-time World Series champions finished fourth as they narrowly avoided the last-place finish in 2023. It was really disappointing for the die-hard fans of the club. They want to see the team end the title drought after 15 years.

It has been a really long time since the NY side made it to the “Big Dance.” But this year, it seems like they have the best chance to end the title drought. After all, unlike last year, Aaron Judge is not the only superstar hitter on the team. They have Juan Soto in the clubhouse. Moreover, the Dominican superstar has been very impactful since the start of the 2024 regular season. He is a top contender for the AL MVP this year. However, the Yankees might lose him after the ongoing season.

What Can The Yankees Nation Do To Entice Juan Soto To Stay In The Bronx?

A few weeks ago, Hal Steinbrenner said he would like to Juan Soto in the Bronx for the rest of his career. Later, the Dominican superstar said, “My door has always been open.” He meant the Yankees owner can talk to his agent about an in-season contract negotiation talk. However, Scott Boras, Soto’s agent, made it clear that he is looking at north of a $500 million contract for his superstar client. But the Yankees owner mentioned that their payroll is “Not sustainable” at the moment. In reply, Boras said Juan Soto is a “Centurion, who is one of the Top 100 players to ever play the game.” For a Centurion, Boras believes the cost should not be the biggest thing to worry about. After all, whichever team signs the Centurion, their worth increases by a billion dollars.

Nevertheless, it does not look likely that the Yankees can offer a contract worth $500 million or north of it to the Dominican superstar. They already have two above $300 million contracts to deal with players like Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole. Considering this factor, Joseph Solano of the Yankees recently said on the Talkin Yanks podcast that he wants to see the love fest with Juan Soto in the Yankee Stadium. Only the Yankees Faithful can shower so much love that makes Soto feel like, “Hey, I love this, I wanna stay here forever.” Moreover, Solano says he won the last two games for the team with two huge homers, hence, “How can we not show him the love?”

Bigger The Stage And It Elevates Soto’s Game

Joseph Solano said on the latest episode of the Talkin Yanks that Juan Soto has just been elevating his game every series. Moreover, Solano says, Soto surprises him every single time, in case of clutch moments and he just knows how to win games. Adding to that, Solano says as the Yankees will have some really big series at home, the Yankee Stadium, it just increases his interest to see how Soto performs in those.

On Sunday, at Oracle Park, the Yankees were trailing 6-5. Later, in the ninth inning, Juan Soto hit a two-run homer to help the Yankees win 7-5 against the San Francisco Giants. That game, he hit the reigning NL Cy Young winner Blake Snell a homer too. Clearly, he is a “Centurion” who deserves all the rewards that come his way.
