Boone\’s position as manager of the Yankees for the upcoming season would not be renewed, according to Mariano. He stated, \”When things don\’t come out the way, all of the fault goes on the manager. Somebody has to pay the price. And we won\’t put that on the players.\”

When Rivera was traded to the Yankees from Cincinnati in the middle of the 2003 season, Boone briefly shared the team with him. However, Hal Steinbrenner, the owner of the New York Yankees, stated on Wednesday that he believes Aaron Boone will remain the team\’s manager in 2023. His announcement came amid a lot of criticism for the Bronx manager.

According to sources, Aaron Boone secured a contract extension for one more year in 2025 and three further years in October 2021. Boone has been the Yankees\’ manager for five seasons. He has lead them to a 427-281 (.603) record and two division crowns and postseason appearances each year.
