Yankees Clarke Schmidt’s Axing Is Inevitable As The Pitcher Registers Yet Another Horrible Outing

The New York Yankees lost the second fixture against the Texas Rangers on Friday. They stepped on the Globe Life Field without their captain, Aaron Judge, who stayed on the sideline due to a hip issue. The Bombers were put under pressure early on as the Rangers took a 2-0 lead at the end of the bottom second inning. Clarke Schmidt, the Yankees starter for the game, had one of the worst outings of the season, and things are not looking good for him.

Clarke Schmidt, a top prospect in the New York Yankees organization, has had a difficult start to his career. After being drafted in the first round in 2017, Schmidt was poised to be a key piece of the Yankees’ pitching staff for years to come. However, his recent struggles on the mound have raised questions about his future with the team.

New York Yankees pitcher Clarke Schmidt entered this season with the hope of becoming a regular part of the rotation in the wake of injury concerns. However, the pitcher has produced barely anything worth noticing on the mound. He displayed a lot of potential with his new variation, the cutters, but failed to execute them. He has had six starts so far, and his ERA stands as high as 6.84. On Friday, against the Texas Rangers, Schmidt pitched five innings, giving away 10 hits and five runs while striking out eight hitters.

While it is still early in Schmidt’s career, it is clear that something needs to change if he is going to succeed at the major league level. The Yankees have a deep pool of pitching talent. Moreover, if Schmidt continues to struggle, it is likely that he will be demoted or even released from the team. Moreover, as we enter May, many of the regular starters could start crawling back from the IL. Hence, it looks like Clarke Schmidt’s days are numbered in the major league, at least for this season. However, it is worth noting that Schmidt’s still just 27 years old and has plenty of time to turn his career around.

Jonathan Loasisiga To Undergo Testing After Facing Setback During Rehab

New York Yankees pitching woes might not end anytime soon. Jonathan Loaisiga has spent a long time on IL due to an elbow injury. However, after multiple weeks of rehab and rest, the pitcher started feeling better. Meanwhile, recently rumors surfaced that Jonathan has suffered a massive setback in rehab and has apparently stopped all baseball-related activities.

In the meantime, as per the latest reports, Jonathan Loaisiga will undergo testing after experiencing soreness in his injured elbow. This seems a major blow to an injury-plagued New York Yankees. They already have no depth in the rotation whatsoever. Hence, losing Jonathan for an extended period of time can cause immense damage to the lineup. As of now, we await an official confirmation from the Yankee front office on the status of the pitcher’s injury.
