Aaron Judge, the cornerstone of the New York Yankees lineup, witnessed a hiccup last weekend when he experienced discomfort in his abs. He was pulled up mid-game and shut down for the rest of the week. While the MRI scans were clean, Yanks opted for extra caution.

However, despite any significant concern, Aaron Judge was missing for a whole week, which scared the fans, considering the opening day was in sight. Not only that, but Judge was not even allowed to pick up a bat until this Sunday. Regardless, after several doubts and speculations, Judge successfully made his way back this Wednesday and was off to a steady start.

New York Yankees captain and formidable slugger Aaron Judge made his much-anticipated return to spring training on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Judge, who skipped 10 days with abdominal discomfort, went 1-for-1 with a double and a walk in a couple of at-bats. The captain spoke after the game and affirmed he felt good physically. Moreover, skipper Aaron Boone also said that he was never worried about Judge missing extended time in the first place. “I knew right away we were probably in a good spot. It was just making sure it didn’t turn into something,” said Boone. Not only that, Boone once again pulled Judge early. But it was confirmed that all of them are part of a set plan.

That being said, the next plan of action for Aaron Judge is to play three more spring games before the New York Yankees move to Houston for the 2024 season-opening series. Judge will likely play against the Mets on Friday, Saturday against the Phillies, and on Monday against the Mets again. Notably, the captain won’t travel to Mexico for the scheduled exhibition matchups. Basically, Judge will be getting around 30 at-bats this spring, which isn’t necessarily a matter of concern for Aaron Boone. He insisted that the slugger has had over 100 live at-bats behind the scenes. That is more than enough for a player of Judge’s caliber to get into shape and rhythm. It’s important to note that the New York Yankees are scheduled to face the Houston Astros on March 28 at Minute Maid Park for the opening-day matchup.

With Aaron Judge back in action after averting an abs injury concern, skipper Aaron Boone has launched his outfield plan. As per insider Erik Boland, the New York Yankees captain has a decent game on Wednesday versus the Pirates. Moreover, manager Boone plans to play him in left field on Saturday against the Phillies.

Notably, Aaron Boone earlier stated that he plans to experiment with the outfield lineup to figure out the best and ideal combination. While Aaron Judge is slated to play center field next season primarily, occasional stints on left field cannot be ruled out. All eyes are on the weekend as the Yankees enter its final spring training phase before grand opening day.
