Aaron Judge is the heart of the New York Yankees. His presence in the lineup holds the key to the team’s success. Last year, the Bronx Bombers’ abysmal 82-80 record outside the postseason widely displayed how much his absence can cost the team.

That being said, ahead of the 2024 season, Aaron Judge witnessed some discomfort in his abs. But he essentially downplayed the injury threat. However, things exploded when skipper Aaron Boone pulled him up mid-way through a spring game and shut him down the next whole week.

New York Yankees fans were left stunned when captain Aaron Judge was pulled up mid-way through a spring game against the Atlanta Braves last week. While skipper Aaron Boone called the decision pre-planned, Judge’s startling revelation sent shockwaves. The captain informed me that he was dealing with some discomfort with his abs. While the imaging MRI scans were clean, he chose to rest for the whole week to avert the risk of aggravation ahead of the opening day. That being said, after Judge’s revelation, Boone came under fire for allegedly lying about the slugger’s health status. However, the skipper claimed innocence in his latest podcast appearance with Talkin Yanks. Boone said pulling Judge up in spring was indeed the plan, as he wanted to split Trent Grisham in centerfield.

It was only later in the day that Aaron Judge informed him of some substantial issue in the abdominal range. He showed him the imaging scans, which were clean. Yet, Boone decided to shut him down to avoid any risk, with just days left before opening day. The skipper confirmed that the injury was not worrisome. In fact, Boone has penciled him into the Yankees lineup for Wednesday’s spring game against the Pirates. He confirmed Aaron Judge should be ready to play on Wednesday. That’s how he plans for things to unfold. But, of course, nothing is guaranteed. The Bronx Bombers are still on a cautious approach and would only field Judge in center field if the captain is 100%. The opening day is just a week away, and taking risks at this stage is not a wise option for Aaron Boone. “We’ve just been treating it and making sure he’s ramped up and good to go,” Aaron Boone said.

Another piece of positive news for the New York Yankees is that a veteran infielder dealing with foot soreness is expected to be fit for opening day. Team manager Aaron Boone shared a health update on LeMahieu during a podcast appearance with Talkin Yanks and said he does not intend to put DJ on the injury list.

Aaron Boone added that DJ LeMahieu’s foot soreness has begun to subside. “I just want to make sure he’s good to go when we start,” said Boone. LeMahieu has been out of action since getting hit on right foot via a foul ball. While his scans clean, the veteran is treating his soreness as of this writing.
