The New York Yankees added Juan Soto to their offense alongside Aaron Judge in the offseason. This move alone made the offseason successful for the whole organization. Last year, if there was one thing that the front office learned, it was that it is risky with just one superstar slugger. They needed a solid pair to show them the way to the World Series. And what else can be better than the pair of Judge-Soto going full throttle in 2024? Clearly, the offense last year let the Yankees down. More specifically, the injuries bothered the players and the lineup.

As the NY side just won their very first game of the regular season against the Houston Astros, they would like to avoid any critical injuries this season. Already, their ace pitcher Gerrit Cole is out for two months with a right elbow injury. The Bronx Bombers can’t allow such setbacks anymore. Moreover, the front office made significant changes in the offseason that made the offense look one of the best in the league. Lately, this offense helped the Yankees win on the Opening Day. After the game, Aaron Judge credited his partner in baseball crime for their comeback victory against the Astros.

In their Opening Day game, the Yankees beat the Astros narrowly as the game ended with 5-4. It was the sluggers in the second half of the game who had a terrific surge that resulted in the Yankees’ win. Moreover, Juan Soto, the star who arrived in the offseason, was a handsome contributor to the NY side’s victory on the Opening Day. The Dominican superstar did not only contribute with the bat, but also defensively. His defensive effort garnered a lot of praise from his team captain as well as the fans.

In the post-game interview, Aaron Judge credited Soto for the victory, saying, “Juan’s debut was a Yankee classic.” Moreover, the Yankees captain mentioned that his partner’s debut spoke volumes of the type of player and presence he is. The first half of the game was disappointing for the Yankees Faithful. Moreover, the Houston side managed to take a comfortable lead quite early in the game. Later, Juan Soto proved why he is the best hitter in baseball. He took it upon himself to turn the game around for his team in pinstripes.

Juan Soto started the comeback with an RBI single for the Yankees Opening Day. But he proved his desire to contribute to the team in any way possible when he made a clutch defensive play as the game was on the line. The four-time Silver Slugger winner delivered a bullet throw to Jose Trevino, the catcher. That throw helped the team to nail Mauricio Dubon at the very end of the ninth inning at home plate.

In the post-game interview, Juan Soto mentioned he could not see Dubon in his window when he initially caught the ball. That’s when he realized he “Had (expletive) time.” Finally, Clay Holmes put the final nail in the coffin as the Yankees enjoyed their biggest Opening Day comeback since 1950.
