Carlos Rodon arrived in Tampa for spring training with high anticipation. However, after a horrendous debut, the pitcher went down with a forearm injury. Moreover, after necessary assessments, the Yankees placed him on the IL, delaying his debuting in the pinstripes. Rodon happens to be a key piece of the Yankees’ starting rotation. They acquired him for $162 million for a reason. Hence, these persistent injuries are giving sleepless nights to the club.

Now, to add more to the misery, Carlos Rodon’s recovery process hit a major roadblock. He started throwing in bullpen sessions last week and displayed positive improvement. However, after a couple of sessions, the southpaw complained of back pain. Apparently, he was suffering from back stiffness and couldn’t take part in the live BP, which was scheduled was later in the same week. But now, as we enter a new week, the situation is unlikely to improve.

New York Yankees’ latest acquisition, Carlos Rodon, had been recovering well from the forearm injury he incurred before the start of the regular season. He successfully hit multiple bullpen sessions and was about to throw in live BP shortly after. However, a few days ahead of the live BP, he suffered back stiffness and asked for additional rest. The Yankees reportedly planned to reschedule the live BP session for Friday last week, but his back issue persisted. Hence, they decided to continue with the bullpen session until he reached the desired fitness level. However, after Monday’s bullpen session, Rodon complained of severe back pain and was sent for CT scans immediately.

While the initial scan came back normal, the Yankees wanted a second opinion. Hence, the team decided to send the pitcher for an additional scan. Till then, Carlos Rodon has been asked to stop throwing. He will limit all baseball-related activities until the scan results are out. Nonetheless, Aaron Boone, the Bombers’ manager, confirmed that the southpaw is feeling fine and the decision to stop him from throwing is just a precautionary measure. That being said, the latest update is a bad omen for the New York Yankees. They want Rodon to return soon, as the pitching staff has struggled since the season began.

Meanwhile, New York Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, refutes any major cause of worry after Carlos Rodon’s recent injury update. He states that Rodon’s back is just a minor issue. Moreover, his throwing arm, which was the initial cause of his absence, is 100% fine. However, whoever has followed Carlos’ injury timeline can figure out that the recent updates are anything but a minor concern.

The southpaw’s back has been nagging him for more than a week now, and each day he complains of discomfort. Not only that, sending Carlos Rodon for multiple scans further adds fuel to the speculations. Overall, the team needs to come clean on the pitcher’s health. The fans need to know the real pitcher, as they are frustrated to the core seeing the depth struggle on the field.
