Aaron Judge is one of the most intimidating hitters of all time in the MLB. However, he did not have a great start to the current season. He was going through an early season slump. Perhaps that was due to his abs injury that he suffered during the Spring Training this year. Then, he was coming from a terrible toe injury that he sustained last season. Anyway, that slow start for whatever reason is in the past as it lasted only a month in the current regular season. In May, Aaron Judge started turning things around.

Moreover, he managed to hit more home runs than anyone else in the league this season. The 2022 AL MVP made more New York Yankees records this year as he managed to hit 34 home runs even before the All-Star break. Clearly, the Yankees captain is on his way to break his own AL Home run record. Lately, on the MLB All-Star Red Carpet, Greg Amsinger and Harold Reynolds had an interesting conversation with Aaron Judge.

On Tuesday, Aaron Judge and his wife Samantha Bracksieck starred on the All-Star MLB Red Carpet. During his appearance on the Red Carpet, Amsinger and Reynolds asked him for an interview and had an interesting conversation. They asked the current Home Run leader about the most difficult pitcher he has faced in his career. In reply, the Yankees captain mentioned that as a rookie he has faced the most uncomfortable at-bat moment. It was when he faced R.A. Dickey, he got uncomfortable, as Aaron Judge says, “There you got no scouting report.” Moreover, the NY side’s captain added that the pitcher was throwing those knuckleballs that came at an 88 mph but looked like a 108 fastball. That’s when he felt like he did not know what to do at that point. He was even looking at the coach back then, like, “What is this guy doing? Now, what am I supposed to do?”

Dickey was once in a generation pitcher who learned to throw the knuckleball and with perfection. He played in the MLB from 2001 to 2017, for several teams like the Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Atlanta Braves, and a few more. In 2012, Dickey won the National League Cy Young Award. That year, he led the league in strikeouts and earned his lone All-Star selection. Coming back to the 2024 All-Star Game, Aaron Judge went hitless over his couple of plate appearances. Anyway, the American League team won 5-3 against the National League team that had Shohei Ohtani. The Unicorn had hit a three-run homer in the 2024 ASG.

As the trade deadline is approaching pretty quick, the Yankees captain talked about the team’s plan going forward. Prior to the July 30 trade deadline, the NY side can be one of the most active teams. Several players are struggling currently who can hamper the team’s progress in October. But the Bronx Bombers are doing more or less well relying on a select few players. Lately, Aaron Judge mentioned that they are the NY Yankees.

Moreover, the team will try to put themselves in the best position, feels Judge. He added that the front office will see where they will need to fill certain holes. Nonetheless, he believes that they have got a great group. Anyway, Aaron Judge says, “We will take all the help we can get.”
