Bronx Bombers manager, Aaron Boone, dropped major hints regarding the future of top prospect Jasson Dominguez.

Jasson Dominguez, a 20-year-old outfielder from the New York Yankees, entered this spring training as a top prospect with minimal minor-league experience. However, nobody, even Jasson, in his wildest dreams, wouldn’t have imagined such a spectacular debut. Dominguez is yet to play a game above the minor league level, but his potential has already generated a lot of buzz within the organization.

Till now, Jasson Dominguez had recorded 8 hits, 8 runs, 4 huge homers, 9 RBIs, and 1 stolen base across 19 at-bats. Moreover, the Martian’s bat speed and power have caught the fans and critics’ attention. Owing to his numbers, fans have demanded Jasson’s inclusion in the Yankees’ starting roster for this season. While the odds are low, the Bombers manager has dropped an exciting hint on the same.

Aaron Boone Impressed With Jasson Dominguez, Hints At His Major League Debut

Jasson Domínguez gets high-fives in the dugout after scoring.

Jasson Dominguez, who was signed by the Yankees as an international free agent in 2019, is considered one of the top prospects in all of baseball. Despite his youth and lack of minor league experience, Dominguez has already shown his talent on the big stage of spring training this year. Along with being a powerful hitter, the 20-year-old comes in handy at the outfield with impressive defensive skills. Naturally, rumors surrounding his major league debut have unfolded a few weeks into spring training.

Meanwhile, Jasson Dominguez downplayed the rumors saying the selection is not on his mind for now. However, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has expressed his confidence that Dominguez is right on track to reach the major leagues at some point in the near future. He said seeing the 20-year-old growth from last year, he is confident that Jasson will take his place on the roster sooner or later. Of course, there is still some time to go before Dominguez reaches the majors. He will need to continue to develop his skills and adjust to higher levels of competition as he moves up through the minors.

Anthony Volpe On The Forefront Of The Shortstop Battle

Meanwhile, another Yankees top prospect, Anthony Volpe, is dominating the spring training with impressive overall performance. Reacting to his performance, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Volpe is doing “everything he needs to do” to make his way to the major league. Volpe is currently fighting a battle to claim the starting shortstop position in the final roster. He competes with Isiah Kiner Falefa and Oswald Peraza.

Anthony Volpe, on the other hand, feels he still has lots of games lined up ahead to prove himself worthy of that spot. He said he wants to take one game at a time and not remain much focused on the future. Further, Volpe thanked the Yankees’ management for the constant support, which relieved his initial doubts and nervousness. While Anthony Volpe’s odds of making it into the final roster look uncertain, considering his lack of minor league experience, his performance this spring training is something that cannot be overlooked in the long run.
