Current Formula One world champion and Red Bull’s sizzling hot driver Max Verstappen is ruling the grid on a whole other level. After his recent win at the Dutch GP, the Dutchman himself secured another record to win nine races simultaneously in a season. On the other hand, his teammate Sergio Perez is trying to get back to winning ways. He started brilliantly as he won a couple of races in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Baku, Azerbaijan. Checo also became the first F1 driver to win twice in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. But now, after Verstappen’s mega-success, unlike Checo’s struggles, everybody wonders how the former is winning races so comfortably when the latter is struggling with inconsistency so much.

Both the drivers drive the same RB19 car, which is the most superior car on the grid. Then what is bothering Checo so much? However, Sergio Perez is not the first driver to have problems with Max as his teammate. Moreover, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff recently mentioned how Max always destroys his teammates. After the qualifying session of the Dutch Grand Prix, there was a massive gap of 1.3 seconds between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. And the Mercedes boss wonders why that would be because Checo is no idiot. In fact, he is a multi-time race winner.

To the media, Toto Wolff mentioned, “I cannot comprehend the bizarre and pretty odd gap between the Red Bull drivers.” He even pointed out how Max Verstappen destroys his teammates. The Red Bull team might build a car around Max’s demands, and it makes things incredibly difficult for other teammates. Toto Wolff believes it makes it very tricky to drive the car for his teammates. However, the Mercedes boss does not have an obvious explanation.

Hence, Wolff called the gap nothing but odd. Moreover, the pressure of being Max’s teammate is huge because of his ruthless competitiveness. That’s what Daniel Ricciardo and Pierre Gasly felt before Sergio Perez in the Red Bull team. But Max Verstappen believes it is not only about being fast. Moreover, it is about delivering constantly under intense pressure. It is a whole other game when you can’t afford to make any mistakes at such a high level.

This year, fans expected to see a fierce internal rivalry between the Red Bull drivers. Instead, what they got was a bit disappointing and boring. The Dutchman went on to win nine races in a row. Max Verstappen equaled the former Red Bull champion, Sebastian Vettel, winning nine consecutive races. The current double-time champion can break the record and make a new record of his own in that category. Moreover, the way things are going, it seems like Red Bull and Max Verstappen can win the remaining nine races.

He has won 11 already this season. For sure, Verstappen will try to be the first driver to get to twenty race wins in a season. On the other hand, Sergio Perez is trying to win his third win in a season for the first time. He is a multi-time Grand Prix winner, but he won more than two races a season before. There are still nine races remaining. Can Checo break Max’s subtle winning streak in the next race or so? The problem with Sergio Perez has been his consistency.
