The New York Yankees kicked off the 2023 MLB season campaign with the ultimate dream of winning the long-awaited World Series ring. However, the plan fell flat shortly after the commencement of the season as injuries and inconsistent gameplay destroyed the team’s winning momentum. The season is in August already, and the Yanks are seated at the bottom of the AL-East table with 59-56.

Naturally, the Yankees’ top brass will be asked some tough questions. The heat of the team’s downfall fell on the managerial duo of Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone. Fans demand their immediate ouster in the aftermath of a disastrous season. Meanwhile, amid growing dissent, the club owner has made his decision and will apparently let go of one of the two managers.

Hal Steinbrenner May Sack Aaron Boone At The End Of The 2023 Season

The New York Yankees fan base no longer wants to see the faces of Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone in the Yankee bullpen next year. However, the owner Hal Steinbrenner has a different set of plans for each of the managerial duo. According to NJ Media journalist Bob Klapisch, Brian Cashman’s job is safe. Apparently, Hal seems satisfied with his work and believes that he has done his best in constructing a potent roster. However, as far as Aaron Boone is concerned, Steinbrenner has his doubts. Klapisch added that the Yankees owner is deeply frustrated with the team’s performance and somewhere holds Boone responsible. Moreover, the skipper has only a year left in his existing contract.

However, since firing someone is not in Hal Steinbrenner’s nature, he will give an opportunity to prove his worth to Aaron Boone. Earlier, Hal was asked as to what it would take to fire Boone. To this, he replied that the skipper garners a lot of respect from the players in the clubhouse. They listen to Boone and want to win for him. The day Hal feels the respect is no longer there, he would happily part ways with the skipper. Furthermore, in another interview, the club owner said that if the team is healthy in the second half and still fails to make it to the playoff, then he would be asking some tough questions to the management. All things indicate the ouster of Aaron Boone in the near future. Let’s see if he can turn this season around to make a strong case for himself.

Fans Blasts Yankees Skipper For Dubious Pitching Decision Vs. White Sox

The New York Yankees lost the series finale to White Sox on Wednesday owing to yet another disappointing outing from Luis Severino. However, it is the skipper who is getting targeted for his questionable decisions. To curb Severino’s first-inning struggles, Boone made reliever Ian Hamilton open. He pitched a scoreless inning and was immediately pulled off.

However, Luis Severino ended up blowing Hamilton’s start completely. He gave away five runs in mere two innings. The fans naturally weren’t happy as they wanted Hamilton to continue. But Boone clarified that the plan was to use Ian for only one inning. He didn’t want to use Severino in the middle of the inning. However, the fans weren’t impressed at all and blasted the skipper brutally.
