The New York Yankees have one of the best players in the game, Aaron Judge, who has been leading them since the last season. By now, almost every baseball fan knows the greatness of the NY side’s captain. However, there is a lot more to see from the man, as the team looks really good this year. Moreover, the captain missed two months of game time due to a torn ligament near his toe.

The Yankees Faithful would be praying that something like that would not happen again. Moreover, as much as the fans want Aaron Judge to stay healthy, his team needs him more than that. After all, it is not only about his unbelievable hitting prowess, but his presence as a leader is a great boost for his teammates. Over the years, a lot of people have talked about the 2022 American League MVP and how he is a great guy off the field as well. Lately, Spencer Jones, the Top Prospect of the Yankees, talked about how Judge treats the junior players of the team. 

   

Spencer Jones Said, “It’s The Coolest Thing” On How Aaron Judge Treats The Young Teammates

Recently, in an interview with The Athletic’s Brendan Kuty, Spencer Jones said, on April 2, that seeing the Yankees captain treat the young players is “The coolest thing ever.” Frequently, fans compare Jones and Aaron Judge for their similar size at 6’7 and 235 pounds. During the spring training, the top prospect of the NY side got to work closely with the 2022 AL MVP. Later, he expressed his awe over the Yankees captain not just because of how hard he can hit the baseball. Moreover, it is about how he treats the young players.

Jones told Kuty that Aaron Judge does not really care who the youngster is or what his role is in the organization. Moreover, Spencer said Judge will always come up to say “Hi.” Spencer Jones witnessed that on the minor league side prior to the start of the camp. Additionally, Jones said Judge was running drills with them and talking to them. Moreover, the 2022 AL MVP made it seem like they were his teammates. Jones added it meant a lot to a lot of the young Yankees, and it feels really special to know that someone like him (Aaron Judge) is leading the team. 

Jones Will Start The Season With Double-A Somerset

Spencer Jones is only 22 years old. During this spring training, He hit .444 in 13 Grapefruit League game appearances, along with a homer and four RBIs. As per MLB Pipeline, Spencer is the NY side’s number two prospect overall. Last year, Jones began with High-A Hudson Valley.

Later, he was promoted to Double-A Somerset. Subsequently, he played 117 games for the Patriots and the Renegades. In that league, he hit .267/.336/.444 with 66 RBIs and also 16 home runs. Even this season, Jones will start with Double-A Somerset.
