The New York Yankees are enjoying a great season this year. There is a good possibility that this team can make it to the World Series. A lot of fans in the Bronx genuinely believe that’s possible. And why should they not have faith in the Bronx Bombers this year? They have the best offensive duo in the American League right now. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto are dominating the league in several offensive categories. Moreover, in the 2024 MLB season, the captain of the Bronx Bombers is leading in most home runs, RBIs, and also OPS. He is also second in terms of the best batting averages this year.

On the other hand, the Dominican slugger leads the league in most walks. The NY side has nothing to worry about as long as the Judge-Soto duo continues their good form and doesn’t slow down. However, there is one small concern for Aaron Boone’s side. This year, the Yankees have a poor record against teams that have a record below .500. Lately, they lost a three-game series against the Washington Nationals on the road. Hence, the players need some off days to rejuvenate.

On Thursday, Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo went to the famous USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center for a night out at the US Open. Judge’s wife, Samantha Bracksieck, and Rizzo’s wife, Emily Vakos, also came to watch the game. As per the New York Post, these four people sipped on honey deuces, which is the signature cocktail of the US Open. This beverage, based on Grey Goose, comes with three melon balls. Meanwhile, at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Karolina Muchova took down Naomi Osaska. Moreover, it has become like a tradition for Aaron Judge to take in the action along with his wife every time past two years. Anyway, the Yankees captain deserved a night off. After all, in recent weeks, his season-long tear has ramped up. Moreover, the NY side will get back in action on Friday for starting a three-game series back in their own ballpark against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Again, the team will rely on the captain to continue with his epic form. So far in August, Aaron Judge has been slashing .415/.556/.927 over 24 games with 12 home runs and 24 RBIs. He also had 24 walks, including nine intentionals. Moreover, the Yankees captain also earned six doubles and a couple of stolen bases. Overall, in the ongoing season, Aaron Judge has a league-leading 51 home runs, 123 RBIs, a .731 slugging percentage, a .467 on-base percentage, and a 1.198 OPS. Moreover, in terms of batting average, the California native is only second to Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals, who have .345. On the other hand, Judge has .333 batting average.

It is no surprise that Aaron Judge leads the league in terms of offensive WAR with 10.1. On top of that, the California Native is on pace to beat his own AL single-season homer record (62 in 2022) this year again. As a result, he is the favorite to win the AL MVP again. Lately, though, there is a good chance that Rizzo, a good pal of Judge, might return sooner to the Yankees rotation.

The veteran first baseman has been doing a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset. He went on the IL with a forearm injury back in mid-June. Anyway, whenever Rizzo returns to the lineup, it will add to the playoff push that will be tight for the Yankees in the American League East division.
