The New York Yankees are on a roll this season. They have been doing something special in 2024 that is reminding the fans of the Golden Era. There is a reason why this franchise is the most iconic and successful in the MLB. The Bronx Bombers have won the “Big Dance” a record 27 times. No other team in the league comes close to that achievement. As a result, they are one of the most iconic teams in North American sports. They hold several records. But in the last 15 years, though, the Yankees have not been to the “Big Dance.” Can they end that drought this year?

It looks highly possible as this year the Pinstripes have got the best lineup they have had in recent times. So far, in 2024, the team looks strong offensively as well as defensively. The pitchers have been doing a decent job even without their ace, though. On the other hand, the batting lineup looks like one of the strongest in the league. Most importantly, the hitters have been healthy and performing brilliantly. Lately, the Big 3 power hitters of the Yankees smashed home runs against the San Diego Padres.

Since the Yankees landed Juan Soto in the offseason, the love between the Dominican slugger and the SD Padres fan seemed to fade away. A lot of fans at Petco Park started booing Soto when he took his first at-bat in Game 1. These fans kept booing throughout his at-bat. In the third inning, Juan Soto returned the love with a 423-foot home run. Yu Darvish and the Padres team was the recepient of the wrath of the best hitter in baseball.

That homer made the crowd silent for a moment. Nevertheless, Soto said that seeing the ballpark, the city, and everything, he gets back all these memories. He called the city and the fanbase “Cool” before the first game of the series. On Saturday, the Yankees and the Padres will play out Game 2.
