Initially, Aaron Judge had an early season slump, despite the New York Yankees were enjoying a great start to the current season. But the start of the captain caused big concerns for the faithful fans. The 2022 AL MVP has been like a savior to the fans in New York since he broke the American League home run record. Moreover, both experts and fans have been looking at the California native as one of the modern-day greats since his 2022 MVP season. The faithful fans in New York believe if anyone can lead the team to their 28th World Series championship, then that’s Aaron Judge. Clearly, the Yankees organization believes that, too, as they made Judge the 16th captain in the franchise history ahead of the 2023 season.

But last year, the Bronx Bombers had a forgettable season as they could not make the postseason for the first time since 2016. Moreover, the Yankees captain hurt his toe really badly. Later, in the spring training this year, Judge missed a few games due to an abs injury. All these factors caused his slow start to the current season. However, in the last three series, Aaron Judge has been showing glimpses of the superstar slugger that fans expected to see. Lately, Judge’s homer helped the NY side win their 7th straight game.

In the last 13 games, the Yankees captain has hit seven home runs. Clearly, Aaron Judge is ready to turn it around. Anyway, the New York Yankees enjoyed another clean sweep lately. The last series win came against the Chicago White Sox. In Game 3, the Bronx Bombers won 7-2 against the White Sox. On Sunday, Aaron Judge and Jon Berti hit home runs to the right field short porch of the Yankee Stadium. So far, the 2022 AL MVP has hit 13 home runs in the ongoing season. After enjoying another clean sweep last Sunday, the NY side extended their winning streak to seven games.

The Yankees were good not just in the offense but also in the defense. On Sunday, Carlos Rodon enjoyed his third consecutive start win for the 27-time World Series champions. Moreover, Rodon went 5-2. With the clean sweep against the White Sox, the Yankees have enjoyed four such series wins already. In 2023, they had won four clean sweep series. In the last 15 games, the NY side has won 13. At present, the Yankees are 33-15.

Currently, the Yankees are enjoying the best record in the American League this season. On the other hand, the White Sox have the worst record in the AL. The Chicago side is 14-33. Moreover, the former team of Carlos Rodon is going through the worst record in MLB on the road with 4-19.

Other than Aaron Judge, Jon Berti, Jose Trevino, Anthony Rizzo, Gleyber Torres had a good time at-bat on Sunday. They had five RBIs and went 7 for 15. Berti hit a three-run homer, putting the Yankees to a 5-2 lead. It was Berti’s first homer for the NY side since they acquired him late in spring training from the Miami Marlins.
