The New York Yankees dugout turned hostile when starting pitcher Marcus Stroman had an emotional outburst in last week’s 16-5 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Gleyber Torres was late on a double play throw on Stroman’s pitch, pushing the pitcher to the edge as he yelled at the fielder.

Marcus Stroman’s outburst continued in the dugout as well while manager Aaron Boone was all unaware of the incident. However, Boone was later briefed by bench coach Brad Ausmus and the skipper knew he had to take action before tensions widen and creates an internal rift amongst teammates.

Marcus Stroman lost his temper on Gleyber Torres at Rogers Center last week in what turned out to be a major controversy. The second baseman was late on a double play throw, and the Blue Jays ended up scoring a run on the error. That irked Stroman as he lashed out at Torres on the field and went yelling back to the dugout. New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge went over to the pitcher to calm him down and point out that his actions were not cool. Marcus realized his mistake and apologized to Torres after the infielder scored a home run in the next inning. Not only that, Stroman took to social media to publicly take responsibility for his actions.

Meanwhile, Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed on the Talkin Yanks podcast that he was completely unaware of Marcus Stroman’s outburst until his bench coach pointed it out. Boone apparently went through tapes and called both Stroman and Torres in to sort out the issues. The skipper disclosed that the pitcher owned his mistake, and the team had already moved on from it. “We don’t want to live in that area where we’re outbursting and reacting to things that happened on the field. Stro certainly understands that,” Boone said. As far as Torres’ feelings are concerned, the manager said it isn’t about a particular player beefing about a certain teammate. It’s completely normal for emotions to spill over every now and then in the 162-game stretch. And that’s exactly what happened with Stroman. Hence, so far, the Yanks have had no bad blood amongst themselves.

Moments after the controversy broke out, Marcus Stroman wrote a message on his Twitter account apologizing for losing his cool on Gleyber Torres. In a heartfelt note, the pitcher mentioned that he is passionate about the game and the New York Yankees. Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, raw emotions tend to spill over.

However, Marcus Stroman admitted that he had no right to lose his cool like that and promised to be a better version of himself going forward. “I truly love this team and will always compete at the highest level for my brothers,” Stroman wrote further. Indeed, the water is under the bridge as both Yankees teammates have sorted out their differences over an incident that flared in the heat of the moment.
