The Golden State Warriors won four titles between 2015 and 2022. As a result, the fans and experts call them the modern-day NBA Dynasty. But the Dubs were hoping to win their fifth title in a span of ten years. However, last year ended on a disappointing note for the seven-time champions as they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in Round 2. But when the 2023-24 season began, the Dubs were again the favorites to win their fifth title in ten years. However, things did not go according to plans. The main trio – Steph, Klay, and Dray could not win as many games together as they wanted in the current season.

Moreover, Draymond Green received two back-to-back suspensions quite early in the season. As a result, the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year missed almost 20 games because of suspensions. In his absence, the Warriors suffered due to a weak defense. When he returned to the lineup, the Warriors were able to maintain a winning streak for a while. Then, they have lost back-to-back games lately. Due to this inconsistency, the Warriors are barely hanging on the 10th place in the Western Conference. This rough season for the GSW made Stephen A Smith proclaim, “The Dynasty is over.”

After the loss to the Timberwolves, Stephen A Smith claimed the Warriors dynasty was over. Albeit, the ESPN Analyst did praise Stephen Curry, the talismanic leader of the Golden State Warriors. Stephen A Smith mentioned, “Ladies and Gentleman, the Golden State Warriors have got problems.”

Moreover, the ESPN analyst believes the Dynasty is over, and change is coming. Smith can’t see how the owners can tolerate what everyone’s witnessing this year. Moreover, Stephen A Smith called the Dubs a “Mediocre team.” He also pointed out the lackluster performances of certain Warriors like Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson, as well as Draymond Green, in this campaign. Moreover, SAS also talked about the career low shooting splits of Wiggins and Thompson. According to ESPN, the Warriors went 11-3 in February after a horrific start to the season. That really helped them to climb up to the ninth seed in the Western Conference. They defeated top teams like the Indiana Pacers, the New York Knicks, the Phoenix Suns, and the Philadelphia 76ers during the 11-3 span. As a result, Stephen A Smith mentioned in an episode of First Take that the Dubs can make a “Legitimate run for the championship.”

SAS mentioned the players who impressed him the most – Draymond Green as he upped the ante and Jonathan Kuminga who really elevated his level of game. On top of that, the ESPN Analyst showed faith in the Splash Brothers as well in February. But coming to late March, things have changed quite a bit as it seems.
