LeBron James has been an inspiration for generations after generations. He was the most highly anticipated rookie after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the history of the NBA. Since then, people have been expecting him to win championship rings every year. But at the end of the day, he is a human being, and it is not possible to win titles every year. That is why, after waiting for seven years with Cleveland Cavaliers since his rookie days, James moved to Miami Heat and won back-to-back championships. But fans and experts never stopped scrutinizing the ever-budding talent. After digesting all the scrutiny of being a traitor, James returned home to the Cavaliers and ended the title drought in Cleveland’s sports history.

Later, LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers and helped them win their 17th title in 2020. Since then, no more championship glory came his way. However, it did not stop LeBron James from winning personal accolades. He broke NBA’s all-time scoring record after almost four decades. Hence, it is clear that very few players in history and in the future can come close to James in terms of titles and personal glories are concerned. However, it seems fans and experts will never stop scrutinizing the King. For some time now, fans have been criticizing LeBron James for not being able to win multiple titles for the Lakers. But the Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal has come out to defend LeBron James from the attacks of fans.

Lakers ace LeBron James came pretty close to winning his 5th championship ring in the recently concluded season. After starting poorly, the Lakers squad was in no place to make the postseason this time either. They failed to make the postseason last year. But this time, James was right on the money as the Lakers did not just make the postseason but also reached the conference finals in the west. However, Denver Nuggets blew them away by a solid 4-0 in the WCF. The Nuggets went on to win the championship as well.

But after losing Game 4 in the WCF, LeBron James gave a couple of hints at retirement. Since then, the Laker’s fans have been criticizing the King. But legendary Shaquille O’Neal recently said that these fans are nothing but greedy. He spoke with BallySports’s Brandon Robinson about the greedy reactions of the Lakers faithful. Shaq believes that James already won a title for the LA side during the pandemic. Hence he expects the fans to demand a statue of James instead of scrutinizing him.

According to Lakers former player Shaquille O’Neal, it was not easy to win the 2019-2020 season during the pandemic. He even hit back at people who think that title does not matter. Shaq believes that LeBron James deserves a statue after what he has done for the Lakers as their own. He broke the all-time scoring record as a Laker that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar created as a Laker back in 1984. Shaq even claimed that if the 2020 championship does not count, then Tim Duncan’s bubble championship should not count either. He says these fans should appreciate the greatness of King James instead of criticizing him all the time.
