Due to his lack of form, Cristiano Ronaldo has been in and out of the Manchester United lineup for a while now. However, the Portuguese striker proved his worth to the team upon his return on Thursday. Yesterday\’s Manchester United\’s 3-0 Europa League victory over Sheriff Tiraspol featured Ronaldo\’s other goal after refusing to replace an injured player the previous week.

Ronaldo Scores His 701st Goal In His Manchester United Return!

United manager Erik Ten Hag reinstated Ronaldo after being taken out of the squad for the Premier League match against Chelsea. He refused to enter as a substitute in the team\’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham the previous week. The Portuguese star, who had started the match against Sheriff, scored the game\’s final goal nine minutes later on a rebound after Sheriff goalkeeper Maxym Koval had stopped his original header. Eric stated that Ronaldo needed a goal. And that he is now certain that there will be more goals in the future when discussing his goal.

The 37-year-old appeared to be going to lose his cool after missing multiple opportunities. He miraculously escaped receiving a yellow card for intentionally kicking the ball away after having a second-half goal ruled out for offside. However, his perseverance paid off in the 81st minute. He slammed home from close range to record the 701st goal of his remarkable club career.

Apparently, Ronaldo started together with 18-year-old Argentinian winger Alejandro Garnacho up front. Before the half, right-back Dalot got things started. And with 25 minutes left, Rashford doubled the advantage. With nine minutes remaining, Ronaldo scored his 701st goal for a club and sealed the victory.

Not to fans\’ surprise, in the aftermath of Manchester United\’s 3-0 victory over Sheriff Tiraspol, Ronaldo lost his cool. After his second-half goal was ruled off-goal, the striker hammered the ball ferociously into the upper reaches of Old Trafford. However, later in the game, he registered a goal that wasn\’t disallowed. So, he placed himself on the scoresheet.

The captain of Portugal wanted to make a good first impression against Sheriff. He came close to scoring on his comeback. Ronaldo grabbed hold of a knock-down and put the ball into the goal with the score at 1-0 due to international teammate Diogo Dalot\’s header. Ronaldo, though, observed the assistant referee\’s flag raised for offside as he turned around to celebrate. The former Real Madrid star had gotten ahead of the Sheriff\’s defense as the ball was put into the penalty area.
