New York Yankees superstar slugger and captain Aaron Judge has scaled new heights in MLB ever since he made his debut in 2016. He won the Rookie of the Year award and subsequently won his career first MVP accolade in 2022. Since then, Judge hasn’t looked back.

Despite an injury-marred 2023 season, Aaron Judge bounced back to lead the New York Yankees to a 54-29 record in the first half of the year. His personal hitting stats are through the roof, and recently, Judge recorded yet another multi-hit game against the Blue Jays, thus strengthening his case in the triple-crown race.

Aaron Judge went nuclear in the month of May after going through a strange phase in April. He broke multiple records with a historic 20-game stretch, which saw him hitting home runs every other day. The nuclear form spilled over in June despite Yanks’ uncharacteristic losing streak. Moreover, on Sunday, with the three-game series against the Blue Jays on the lineup, the captain came through with a multi-hit game in an 8-1 win. He went  2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs as the Yanks snapped out of the series losing streak. That being said, Aaron Judge is now leading the race to get a triple crown. He is leading the American League with a .316 batting average, 31 home runs, and 82 RBIs.

Notably, getting a triple crown is no child’s play. The milestone has been achieved only four times since 1950. Mickey Mantle did it in 1956, Frank Robinson did it in 1966, Carl Yastrzemski did it in 1967, and Miguel Cabrera did it in 2012. Hence, Aaron Judge will have to carry the same momentum and consistency to achieve the iconic milestone. Besides the triple crown, Judge is also leading the majors in total bases (213), slugging percentage (.708), and OPS 1.144. He is second in walks (61), on-base percentage (.436), and WAR (5.9). Additionally, the Yankees captain is also leading the AL-MVP race, with teammate Juan Soto and Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson being his direct competition. Regardless, the former AL-MVP has already registered a successful MLB season even before the All-Star break. His success will undoubtedly steer the Yankees to a successful postseason finish.

The New York Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, is on the cusp of producing something extraordinary this year with his formidable hitting skills. He slammed his 31st career home run on Sunday and is now on the pace to hit 62 home runs, which is the record for most home runs hit in a single season set by Judge himself.

It’s important to note that Aaron Judge didn’t get his 31st season home run in 2022 until July 14. Hence, the Yankees captain is two weeks ahead of schedule. Moreover, with New York Yankees on pace to comfortably qualify for the postseason, Judge is expected to recreate history once again by the end of the season in October.
