REPORTS: Red Bull Changing Major Components Of Their Champion RB18 Car For The 2023 F1 Season

Red Bull 19

RB18 was arguably the best version of the Red Bull car. The strongest-ever single-seater of Red Bull was the most substantial car on the grid in 2022, which brought back the team’s dominance in Formula One. With the end of the turbo hybrid era and the implementation of the new ground floor effects, Red Bull was presented with the only opportunity to beat Mercedes. And clearly, they utilized this chance very well. Winning 17 races and two championships is not shocking. What’s surprising is to know that Red Bull is not bringing back RB18 in 2023. Yes, the team is launching a totally different car on 3rd February in NYC.

Rumors are being circulated that the 2022 constructor’s champion team is changing the livery this time. And most importantly, they are implementing 90% of the change on the surface of the car. RB19 is getting revealed on February 3, but fans should be prepared to see such a grand change in the 2023 Red Bull car; it may not be the real one that they will see. The recent rumor about the Milton-Keynes-based team suggests that there will be a “disguised revolution” with RB19.

Red Bull Changed 90% Of The Car Design In 2023

Red Bull has a history of insane tactics in terms of unveiling their car. Back in the time, the team presented a dummy car on the launch day. The real was brought directly on the pre-season testing day. With the experimental data the team received with RB18 last year, even the rivals are ready to copy their concept, but why not RED BULL themselves doing so? Actually, the team is not completely changing the car; there will certainly be a link to the RB18. But the aerodynamic design will be different.

Probably the change is followed by the set of new regulations that FIA launched ahead of the 2023 Formula One season. The visible changes will include the aerodynamic department along with the curvatures and the chassis. The design change will its place on the floor and the Venturi channels of the Red Bull car. However, fans should be tension free because these changes won’t reduce the car’s performance. They are instead done to improve the aerodynamic performance of the machine.

Besides, all the data achieved by analyzing the development of the RB18 car during the 2022 season will get add-ons in the RB19. So, the changes are done only with the aim of improving the particular area under the supervision of the director, Pierre Wache, and Adrian Newey. They have suggested these changes as important for the team. This time Red Bull is also facing the impact of the cost cap penalty. They have got a 10% reduction in the Wind Tunnel testing. So the team had to do things in a different way, anyway.
