The New York Yankees are about to start their Spring Training soon. They are coming from a pretty tough 2023 season. It was terrible for them. They finished with an awful 82-80 season. Moreover, the NY side could not make the postseason last year. Hence, they have a lot to prove in 2024. They have a lot of naysayers who they need to prove wrong. On top of that, the fans who have been waiting for their beloved franchise to win the World Series again deserve to see their team do it for them. But can they do it this year? Only time can answer that. But the Yankees have been through a pretty productive offseason.

They managed to fix the issues with their offense and outfield. Moreover, they still managed to maintain some sort of depth in their bullpen. However, the NY side wanted to sign a starting pitcher this season, about which they still have work to do. Albeit, they signed Marcus Stroman in for a two-year deal worth $37 million. But they have been looking for someone more dependable ace pitcher. Anyhow, the Yankees are getting ready for a couple of games in Mexico, which will happen at the fag end of their spring training.

On Friday, the Bronx Bombers announced a two-game series coming up against the Diablos Rojos del Mexico at the end of spring training in Mexico City. On March 24 and March 25, the Yankees will play against that team of the Mexican League at Alfredo Harp Helu Stadium. Then, a few days later, the NY side will play their regular season opener. Clearly, the presence of MLB is increasing in Mexico. Since 2018, there have been three major league series played in Mexico. Then, there is another coming this season. At the same stadium where the Yankees will play against Diablos Rojos del Mexico, the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres battled out a two-game series in 2023.

Then, in the same venue, the Houston Astros and the Colorado Rockies will battle out in April this year. After the Yankees play against that Mexican team, it will be another series they played in a different country. They will make it in five different countries, including the one in Mexico. The NY side, of course, plays in their own country as well as in Canada. But they also played in Tokyo, Japan, and London, England. However, in those different cities, the Bronx Bombers played regular season games of MLB.

The Yankees will play their last two spring training games against the Pittsburgh Pirates and their city rivals, the Mets. The games are set for the same days as the series in Mexico. On March 28, the NY Yankees will open the season on the road against the Houston Astros.

Moreover, the Bronx Bombers will be eager to see how the duo of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto pans out. Then, there’s more to see as per the pitching department. The NY side have not gotten an ideal starting pitcher alongside their ace, Gerrit Cole. Moreover, the fitness of the players will be an important factor that the manager would keep an eye on.
