Lewis Hamilton is set to join the Maranello squad in 2025. With one of Ferrari’s most historic signings, the team hopes to end the world title drought with a seven-time world champion. Meanwhile, the Briton is on the quest for his record-breaking eighth world title. Although information remains discrete, reports suggest Ferrari has offered Hamilton a massive annual remuneration.

However, the latest rumor has hit the paddock, with F1 journalist Joe Saward making some exclusive claims. Despite being a superstar, Hamilton plans to sponsor himself for his Ferrari stint. The Briton would likely use his non-alcoholic tequila brand Almave as a sponsor.

In a Green Notebook blog, F1 journalist Joe Saward revealed that Almave could sponsor Ferrari. Saward stated that an interesting rumor from the Singapore GP was that Lewis Hamilton is willing to sponsor himself. Further, he explained Hamilton’s partnership with French giant Pernod Ricard, the second-largest wine and spirits company in the world. Hamilton’s non-alcoholic tequila brand Almave joined hands with Pernod Ricard, earlier managed by Copper Firm. Hamilton’s move was to give Almave global exposure through worldwide distribution through Penord Ricard. The Briton was willing to extend the brands and thus signed the deal.

During the official announcement of this collaboration, the 39-year-old racer said it was important for him to find a partner to embark on this non-alcoholic project. Hamilton was delighted to offer a high-quality drink with exquisite taste through time-honored techniques. He also lauded Casa Lumbre, the initial collaborator, as the firm materialized Hamilton’s vision. Moreover, he expressed excitement after signing a deal with Pernod Ricard in such a short period. The Briton was enthusiastic about embarking on the next phase of his journey, eager to share his drink with a wider audience.

Alexandre Ricard, the chair and CEO of Pernod Ricard, expressed his admiration for Almave, a collaboration between Lewis Hamilton and Casa Lumbre. He highlighted that this venture represents an exceptional offering in terms of quality, taste, and market positioning. Ricard noted the growing global demand for agave-based products, emphasizing that having a non-alcoholic option within their premium portfolio is a significant achievement. He praised Almave for honoring the craft and expertise involved in traditional distillation, deeming it a valuable addition to their collection.

On the other hand, former Ferrari engineer Rob Smedley has advised Hamilton to stay away from a “dangerous game.” With Hamilton going to the Italian team, fans speculated he might feel alone as there are no allies in Ferrari. Thus, experts suggested he might take some Mercedes engineers like Peter Bonnignton to Maranello.

However, Smedley feels otherwise, claiming it was a misstep. Moreover, Smedley believes a seven-time world champion doesn’t need an entourage and will figure things out. Further, the former engineer feels the team will embrace Hamilton, given his reputation and legacy.
