It was a close fight between Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton during a rainy race in Silverstone. Moreover, George Russell had won the pole position in qualifying. However, he ended up with an unfortunate DNF in Silverstone. Then, Norris and Hamilton had a fierce battle throughout the race. They were leading the race for most of the laps. Finally, it was the reigning champion, Max Verstappen, who overtook Norris in second place. However, the Dutch racer could not beat his old rival, Lewis Hamilton, who went on to win his 104th GP. He said, “I wanted to win for them so much because I really love them.” Moreover, the seven-time champion credited the big home support he always gets on the Silverstone circuit.

The 39 year old racer said that the fan’s support, along with the hard works of everyone back in the Brackley factory encouraged him to never give up. It was important as he had those moments when he thought he was just not good enough anymore. Finally, he said “Big Thank You” to the fans and “I love you guys” to everyone in the Mercedes team.
