REPORTS: Huge Loss For Golden State Warriors As Chris Paul Sustains Severe Injury

The Golden State Warriors are just not having the season they hoped for. Last season, it was a heartbreak for the Dub Nation when the Los Angeles Lakers knocked them out in round 2. They have been looking for the fifth title in ten years for their Dub Dynasty. However, things have not been going their way since the last season. Last season, Stephen Curry got injured and missed several regular season games. Later, somehow, they got it all together and made it to the postseason. But the conference semis was the highest point they could reach as the Lakers blew them away. The modern-day dynasty thought they could have redemption in the 2023-24 season.

But it seems to get worse than ever. The season started with Draymond Green ruining the Dubs party as he received back-to-back suspensions. Later, the Warriors suffered because the Splash Brothers were not performing at their best. Klay Thompson had a poor start to the season with his diminishing shooting abilities. On the other hand, Steph Curry led the team well in most games. But there were games where he had real underwhelming performances. Now, to make matters worse, Chris Paul fractured his hand and will stay out for over a month.

Chris Paul was doing well as he was supporting Steph on the court. The Warriors were having a terrible season anyway. But in these tough times, if there was a positive for the Dubs, then that was Chris Paul’s impact. He was leading the GSW in terms of assists and steals. Hence, the seven-time champions face an immense challenge to overcome Paul’s absence. Chris Paul was really anchoring the bench unit, and it really helped Steph’s minutes. Both Steph and Paul have been trying their best this season to help the team. But the shooting percentages of Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson have not helped the Dubs at all.

With two suspensions, Dray Green missed 21 games. As a result, the Warriors have been weak at their defense for these games. Recently, the NBA Insider Mark Medina called Chris Paul’s absence huge because he was helping Steph Curry with his workload. But the Warriors will have to sideline Paul for at least six weeks after he fractured his hand. This 38-year-old was proving to be the GSW’s focal point this season. Currently, the Warriors are seeing themselves in an unfamiliar territory with an 18-22 record. They have the fourth-worst record in the West so far.

As they have the fourth-worst record in the Western Conference as of now, the Golden State Warriors are facing scary times. They might not even make the postseason this year. Moreover, they hope to bring some solid change ahead of the trade deadline. Perhaps the changes might help them to make the play-in tournament at least.

Currently, the seven-time champions are the 12th seed in the West coast. They need their big 3 – Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Dray Green to turn things around. Moreover, they will need the young rookies and sophomores to support the seniors to the best of their abilities, especially since Chris Paul is out.
