One of the biggest surprises of the 2024 season was Adrian Newey’s decision to part ways with Red Bull. The British technical supremo joined the squad in its initial days and worked on numerous projects to improve the team’s overall structure. Ultimately, with persistent efforts, Newey helped the team win consecutive world titles.

However, someone as talented as the aero wizard has been unhappy with RBR management lately. The 65-year-old veteran engineer felt underappreciated within the squad. Further, the power struggle strengthened his decision to bid farewell to a two-decade-long partnership. Since Newey’s departure, speculations about his next step have been buzzing. Recent developments and reports suggest Adrian Newey has found a new home in F1.

Aston Martin To Officially Announce Signing Of The Aero Wizard In September

In a shocking revelation, reports suggested Aston Martin will soon announce a new partnership with Adrian Newey. The aerodynamic expert has been a highly influential figure in the motorsport world. His contributions to making Red Bull an F1 giant are irrefutable. The Milton Keynes-based outfit announced Newey’s exit ahead of the Miami GP. It marked the end of a 19-year journey decorated with seven Drivers’ and six Constructors titles. Since the Briton was announced as a free agent, elite F1 teams like Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes were in contention to sign a deal. However, according to an Italian publication, Aston Martin has offered him a $100 Million four-year contract. Thus, the veteran engineer will be earning $26 million annually.

Silverstone’s team chief was asked about their links with Adrian Newey. However, he gave a diplomatic reply. Mike Krack emphasized that the team is in a growth phase, highlighting the importance of being open-minded and dynamic regarding personnel and car development. He noted that the sport does not reward complacency, and any growth must be built around a stable core. Over the past few months, several new members have joined the senior management team. Despite frequently being asked if these new additions complete the team, Krack stressed that recruitment is ongoing. He believes that there may always be someone who can further enhance the team.

Further, the German executive explained that the organization must remain dynamic and open to new perspectives. At the same time, he stressed the importance of allowing the existing team members to mature, express themselves, and naturally take on greater responsibilities. This balanced approach aims to foster both internal growth and the infusion of fresh ideas from outside the organization.

While reports of Newey’s latest deal remain unconfirmed, another report suggests an even bigger development in the world of F1. Earlier, speculation about Verstappen looking to join the Silverstone squad surfaced. It claimed the Dutchman’s decision was influenced by the Hond engines, as 2026 will be a complete revamp in the FIA power unit regulations.

An Auto Sprint report claims the Green outfit will drive away Verstappen from Red Bull. This is due to the current situation at the Austrian squad, which is searching for calmness. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen wants a dominating car going into the 2026 season. Thus, he might switch to Aston Martin if the problems with RBR persist. However, these are all rumors and speculations, and an official announcement is the only correct source to confirm the authenticity of these claims.
